What a bunch of carrot crunching munchkins in town before the game. 100 of them decided to turn right out of the station and attack the Wetherspoons. I say attack, they kicked a bus and decided not to go near the pub which had a whole 5 Bluebird fans outside. Throwing a can or 2 seemed to be the extent of their ambitions until the police arrived with a couple on horseback and turned them around. They obviously felt very brave a mile or so from the ground and would have gained a bit more kudos if they had gone to Canton where their ar$es would have been thoroughly kicked. A couple of questions: 1. The police knew they were there. Why did they not send them out of the station to Penarth Road - the usual away fan route - or just direct them through Riverside. And avoid the adverse news? 2. WoL headlines say there was a riot in town. Really? If Bluebird fans were involved I would agree, but they weren't. If it had extended into Queen Street or around the castle I would again agree. It was a little rough, not even any tumble, outside the Spoons, hardly a riot. Just the usual sensational over reporting from WoL.
Video of that Bluey. What a pile of ****ers. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/19uwNn8ReB/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Bore da chaps. Overall, a draw was probably a fair result - although please forgive me for being more than a little miffed about the timing of the equaliser when I was looking forward to continuing the weekend in the playoffs!! As regards the 14 point gap; I agree that by yesterday’s game’s standard there was nothing between us, however I would respectfully point out that (a) you were at home and (b) it was a local derby, so form and performance goes out of the window. Please don’t think I’m ‘bigging us up’ - I’m not. We are average championship standard, but our home form is the reason we are where we are. We have made ourselves very difficult to beat at Ashton Gate. Annoyingly the Jacks managed it last week but even they admitted they got away with it a bit by successfully defending a battering in the first half. Our away form is ‘meh’ but it’s still 1 point per game, so 1 point away and 3 at home is pretty decent form. Added to all this, apart from Sheff U, Leeds and perhaps Burnley, nobody has set the league alight this season, which has kept the playoffs achievable to most teams - even at this stage. I’m sure you won’t go down.
