I can't see a post about it on here but I have just noticed that Sean St Ledger has moved to you've guessed it Leicester on Monday. I feel we have missed out as St Ledger and Fonte would of been class in the Championship. What are your thoughts?
Theres still plenty of players of the same abillity out there waiting to be snapped up. I'll start to get worried if we haven't signed anyone before we go to Switzerland.
Alot of people on here suggested St Ledger. He looked good the year before last, but not so sure last year. Time will now tell.
I would annoyed and concerned if we didn't sign anyone. Every year we say need to hit the ground running and have everything sorted out well in advance, but we never do. Still a week to go though, so we will see.
Perhaps there will be a couple of signings waiting when they get to Switzerland (she said hopefully).
I think we are looking for a more left sided centre back if anyone and Ledger does not fit this bill. Someone good in the air and predominantly left footed is what we want, like Matt Mills but prob a bit out of range.
Signing of Maynard will be on OS at 11pm this Fri followed very shortly by two Others from Overseas................ TBC
I am becoming more positive about the likelihood of Maynard arriving, as Leicester have added Nugent, it is remarkably quiet at Saint Mary's and Ashton Gate but all still speculation at this stage.
He seems like one of those players who everyone decides they must sign....a bit like chopra, sharp etc. They might be under the spotlight but there are dozens of other players who could do just as good a job, if not better. Fact is, with the players like St Ledger, because of them being such obvious transfer targets, you are going to pay more than they are worth. Stephen Caldwell, Gabbidon, Anthony Gardner, Meite, Sonko, available on a free, for example. Let alone all the players surplus to requirements at lower end prem clubs etc. Wouldnt surprise me if we sourced another Michael Svensson from some random Scandanavian country or something!
