Doesn't say he is an alcoholic but that he is a binge drinker - a typical Irish/English/Scottish/Welsh/British man then. Story isn't actually about him anyway - just uses him as an example of what doesn't make sense to me either - if you are a sportsman/woman/other why do you drink, smoke, eat crappy food etc. Saw Alex Tualangi in Marylands and few nights back and wanted to ask him wtf was he doing eating this crap when he is meant to be a world class athlete. I didn't because I like having all my teeth (he is massive!) and because it would have been kind hypocritical of me as I wasn't exactly there to buy a salad and then go for a 20k run after.
