Good candidate for the job? Did well at Donny until this season when small budget bit hard. Key influence on Forest staying up and having a decent finish to the season
I am unsure why people would say no, only reason is possibly the fact that his insistence at playing football are what got him sacked at Doncaster. He would continue the style Barmby has produced, just unsure on whether the fans would accept him, but i think he would do well and would be a cheap option certainly.
Please change your avatar! Every time I read your posts I subconsciously put a "you get me blood" at the end!!!
I'd echo that - just about all the other names being mentioned make me cringe for one reason or another, but not O'Driscoll. His arrival at Forest and their improvement were no coincidence... http://thetwounfortunates.com/odriscoll-in-for-cotterill-at-forest/
Without doubt would be the bets mentioned. Mick Mccarthy would not take it, don't think BD would take it. Phil Brown- no, the Allams had to pay an overinflated fee for the club due in part to the management when he was here. Megson - just no. Greg Abbott - this would be a disaster. Lack of ambition from the owners. SOD plays good football, although quiet always seems measured with the press.
I'm not so sure Greg Abbot would be a disaster. I'd love someone famous and proven but I don't see them wanting to come, I reckon it'll have to be a 'smaller' name for them to even look at this job. I don't knoow much about Abbott but if he came close to getting Carlisle into the Championship then he might be worth a go. As I said earlier in this thread, the most important thing for me is that they try to play good football. I don't want us to be a long-ball team or a time-wasting/cheating team either. I hope the new manager tries to carry on what Barmby was doing.
I wouldn't mind Sean O'Driscoll as our manager. Likes to play good attractive football which is a positive
Right, so it's decided then, we want O'Driscoll. Can someone please make sure this is the main topic of conversation in the canteen at Allam Marine for at least the next week, thanks.
If the guy was my mate he wouldn't hear the end of it from me. Unfortunately, he's just a guy I've spoke to at a couple of OSC events and he's told me some stuff about Mr Allam wanting to know what the fans think (they work very closely, he isn't just some engineer or something) He's also the guy that bought Deano's medal on behalf of the Allams.
