I have heard from 2 different people that Sean Dyche has more or less been offered the job, it's all down to personal terms. One of the people is a bookie and apparently the odds have plummeted. I know it's nothing concrete and it's a bit of my sister's boyfriend's dad's dog said this and that, but has anyone else heard this rumour and if not, what are your views on Dyche. He's from Kettering too, which is only 30 mile away, so fairly local.

Given the negativity around Puel for his style of play I feel like a lot of our fans would top themselves if we had Dyche...

    Wagner’s just left Huddersfield

It’s amazing how quick a managers stock can fall as he was our first choice wasn’t he when we took on Puel?

Exactly - seems like those people only want Pearson, O'Neill or Dyche for their interviews.

Dyche’s interviews are worse than his football! Constantly moaning and talking about money, really is the ginger Mourinho without the trophies! I’m seeing Wagner mentioned tonight, obvious link given he has left Huddersfield. Would be interesting to see how he gets on in a job with more resources

I dont see Dyche bailing on Burnley mid-season. Might happen in the summer though, maybe he could come here and spend a few pound notes.

Come to think of it, it wont happen unless we get Slimani and Ulloa back. Hes not coming to a team without a target man <laugh>

Of all the current Prem managers I would want Eddie Howe

Surely with our ambition with the stadium, training ground, wages and transfer budget it would tempt him

He has taken Bournemouth as far as he can. He has already left them before for Burnley but did return

He returned to Bournemouth because of 'family reasons' and from wat I recall, stress. Why do people think that a new manager would be given funds to spend in the transfer market? Shed loads of money is being spent on land purchase, stadium expansion and new training complex. FFS - even Arsehole Wenger wasn't allowed to spend big when Arsenal were building their new stadium. As for selling Iborra and Silva - they have shown their major strengths as playing deep in midfield - where we are currently overloaded. The future of this club is extremely bright. The immediate is a transition - and was always going to be. Iborra and Silva are both too slow on the ball - and have struggled with the pace of the Prem. They will do well at their new clubs (should Silva actually leave) where the build up play is slower. Do I like Puel - wouldn't go for a pint with him. Do I blame him for dross - down to the players. Does he have better starting options - if he does I don't know who - but they certainly aint Iborra and Silva.

Of course to us we are a far more attractive prospect, to the neutral we probably are if not to the same extent. Howe is Bournemouth through and through so will be far more attractive to him. They are spending money on the squad and similarly positioned in the league. To him it would be a sideways step at best. If he leaves Bournemouth it will be because a much bigger club take a chance on him.

There is no vacancy so currently a waste of time even speculating

Good post - people have also forgotten that this season is the first one since we won the Premier League then that we aren't worried about relegation at this stage of the season.

Not sure what you are on about - you would prefer us to be relegation fodder like the past couple of seasons and think that will attract Eddie Howe?

Relegation fodder? Our lowest finish is 14th and highest is 1st. Are we on about the same club here?

Again Eddie Howe is at Bournemouth not Man U. He might say he doesnt want to leave Bournemouth. He might fancy a new challenge where he has better resources and facilities. Unless you ask the question you never know

So I am correct in saying that people have also forgotten that this season is the first one since we won the Premier League then that we aren't worried about relegation at this stage of the season.

Ranieri took his eye of the ball too much and focused on the Champions League too much

Other then that we havent come close to the relegation zone since the great escape

2 seasons ago when Raneiri was sacked we were only out of the relegation zone due to goal difference. Last season when Shakespeare was sacked we were actually in the relegation zone.

This season our lowest position is 13th after the first game - ever since we have been in the top half of the table.

Ironically, considering your absolute hatred of him, Puel might have done enough so managers the calibre of Howe might be interested - they were not before.
