Has dismissed reports linking him with the job according to Sky Sports News, have to say this was the first I'd heard of any link. Can't imagine him wanting to leave Burnley to be honest, lazy journalism I reckon.
I wonder how much communication there is going on, clearly successful managers will be linked with us as we seemingly have, however tenuous, open premier league managerial position. Is this all just media bluster, basically asking the question enough until something stick but using denials as a news story in the mean time or are we reaching out to anyone. of what its worth I'm guessing the first.
He's managed to turn Burnley into s great attacking side who play good football. I guess it's a bit too counter attacking for your liking.
Presently out of all the names around, the ones I like the most are Steve Clarke and Uwe Rosler. I've heard Bielsa but I think that's out of our reach. Frank Rijkaard would be the name I want the most, his Wikipedia page says he's coaching at some American College, his career has waned so we might be able to tempt him.* * scrub that, I've just read he's not returning to football management
Nothing's going to happen until Adams has had his chance, although McNally will be sizing up the options.
yeah, let's write off Adams before he has even had a game! Come on, shall we be a bit more open minded and hope that this all turns out well. At the very least wait until the end of the season before we have the drains up. Re: Carrubah - Steve Clark? West Brom didn't think he was that special, why should we? There is no panacea out there.
I think you need to read the thread, I was asked who I'd like. I don't think he's special, I just think he could be a good fit for us.
He's not a big name, his footballing ideals will probably be workable with what we presently have. He's a also a vastly experienced coach. If I had more info I'm sure there are many better available however.
That is my point though really, there are no stand out candidates and Clark would probably be no better than several of the others out there currently. I think that this is part of the reason why CH lasted so long.
But that is the problem, there will not be loads that will fit the criteria for Norwich City. They may be too expensive, not experienced enough, unused to the PL (which may or not be a factor) and when it is all boiled down, there will be very few surprises and the names that we have churned out on various threads will be the basis of the choice. Not a very pretty list when all is said and done.
It's going to be Neil Lennon if we stay up and Malky if we go down, I'm pretty certain that's how it's going to pan out
i do find steve clarke a slightly odd suggestion as everything i've seen of him reminds me of chris hughton. similar strengths, similar weaknesses. i think if we want to throw a 'real' wildcard into the hat, someone with a heavy coaching background, then paul clement is our man - not steve clarke. edit. but as munky says above, i think it'll be lennon if we stay up and mackay if we go down
