http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18687313 Strange that you can even get sacked nowadays even after doing a brilliant job. Feel sorry for the guy. Used to see him a lot when he was playing for Northampton Town in my local park walking his dog. Personally I like Gianfranco Zola but I don't think he is manager material. Wonder what Watford fans think of it. Hope he gets a job soon, got to feel for the guy.
Yeah Sean got a rough deal. I hope he falls into a better job & takes the next step. One of the best Championship managers last season.
i'm a big fan of zola and think he'll do well there but that's incredibly harsh on dyche who did really well last year. not the prettiest style admittedly but got some good results with a team that i thought would fight relegation. at least we won't have to hear his interviews which were rather gravelly...
I like Zola don't get me wrong, he didn't have the best of times at West Ham although other things got in the way too. This is probably make or break for him. Yeah, haha, he wasn't exactly blessed with charisma, Watford is a tricky job and he done well especially as they lost Sordell which was a blow for them and Deeney getting into trouble. They don't really have a decent forward at all! Off topic but also think Spurs have got a good appointment in AVB, I really rate him as a manager and think he signed well for Chelsea
i've still not made my mind up about AVB. will be interesting to see how he gets on at spurs. if he makes a slow start the media will have him for breakfast. he did brilliantly at porto - people might say 'weak league' or whatever but he went the year unbeaten in every competition, including the europa league! he must have something to keep getting these jobs... i think if he gets given three years at spurs then we may see what all the fuss is about, but he doesn't half talk gibberish in his pressers!
yeah, what he done at Porto was brilliant, I think at Chelsea he signed for the future, I think it'll be the same at Spurs. Lukaku, Romeu and Courtois all have massive potential and could make up Chelsea's spine in a few years from now. I also think Mata and Merieles also proved top signings!
lukaku is an absolute beast, just like drogba, and i assume that's why he is so highly rated. the difference is, drogba has a finessé to his game whereas i don't think lukaku has. he'll get better i'm sure...
His goalscoring record for Anderlecht is pretty good baring in mind he was 18 when he left! It really is hard to tell but agree physically he is a clone of Drogba although I think he might be slightly taller.
I am somewhat shocked at this news, SD did an amazing job last season and certainly in the 2nd half of it. Hopefully another Championship club will take a punt on him so he can prove his abilities once again.
forest maybe? he's an ex player at the city ground. i guess (if their takeover goes through) they'll want a 'big name' manager though... dyche will probably end up at chesterfield!
You would think (no teams named here ) that after several high profile failures, some teams would try a different approach eh? Big names does not always = good
Yeah I think its a nieve choise zola..... just gone for the name. Its a bit like how our present manager left Newcastle......
Watford fan here, I think the general consensus is one of disappointment among Watford fans who felt Dychey had done fantastically considering his lack of resources and players at the start of the year. The Hughton sacking does indeed spring to mind, and hopefully Watford will go on to bigger and better things under Zola, but I'm not condoning in any way what the Pozzos have done as I feel they have treated Dyche terribly after he showed loyalty at the start of the year by not following Mackay to Cardiff.
wealthy, foreign ownership... its not always all its cracked up to be. sometimes you're better off with a delia
TO be fair, I like Watford. (probably because I am always Watford on Football manager haha) I think Dyche done a brilliant job, I don't know how Zola will do but I heard you might act like a feeder club to Udinese. Seems strange as you already have a fantastic youth team with players who may get in the first team in a few years. Sean Murray looks a good player what I've seen of him. I think foreign owners can be good if they try and keep out of it a bit, take a step back, they let the professionals and experts do it. If they try and get involved with the day to day running than I think it could be a bad thing. Especially acting as a feeder club to Udinese, although not been a bad thing for Granada
