If we complete these signings imo that will be enough.

I think we'll still need another RB unless Mick is prepared to put Edwards there, which I doubt. In terms of numbers although it's a fairly small squad (I think that could be a strength) that should be enough cover, possibly dare I say with some loans coming in, in emergencies.

Have to say from what I've read neither will add much to the squad apart from being cover. Would prefer us to sign Berra or Stearman over Seaborne.

I’d rather have Stearman back as well, but Bristol City fans reckoned Skuse was better as a right back than in central midfield. If he’s under consideration there (as cover at least) then we still have a potential three man central midfield of Hyam, Tabb and Wordsworth.

I think if we really want to step up next season we still need to add more quality/creativity to the midfield i.e a left winger and a playmaker and I also think we need a goal poacher!! Plus a better keeper than Loach

Indeed – there’s not so much wild optimism in the playmaking department, unless Wordy comes on something of a bundle (iffy vertebrae notwithstanding).

Perhaps it’s just that I no longer have to view every managerial decision with the sort of horrified alarm that we’ve all become accustomed to in recent seasons, but I’m not so worried about the strikers:

McGoldrick scored 16 in 22 at Coventry before he came here – a bloke who deserves a chance to blend in given the chaos of last season, in my opinion! Nouble looked tremendous in spells and is receiving the close tutelage of Sir Terrance of Connor as we speak. Then there’s Taylor, who presumably will stay out of the nick if he can avoid mouthy bouncers, and can play as a striker and an attacking wide midfielder, then there’s an emerging Jack Marriott. Have we all written off Chops, by the way??

I thought Wordsworth looked pretty good actually when I saw him, had a quality on the ball and I was impressed with his late runs into the box. The thing which concerns me is for a CM I think he may well drift in and out of games, perhaps be a bit of a Tommy Miller whereby everytime he's on the ball he's pretty good but he doesn't get on the ball enough. IMO particularly if we're going to play 442 you need your 2 CM's to take responsibility and whether they have a bad game or not always try to get on the ball ala Magilton and Holland.

I'm not overly confident in our strikers scoring alot of goals, none bar Chopra has a good record in this division or in any other for that matter bar McGoldrick for Coventry. I think we'll do well but won't be exactly a high scoring team, looking at our strikers on paper I doubt many defences will be looking with worry, they know they'll be in for a battle. I think Taylor and McGoldrick are very good footballers but I'm unsure how much McGoldrick will actually bring to the team in terms of assists or goals, to me he reminds me a little of Jon Stead who's a very good footballer and one of the best finishers I've seen but simply didn't occupy the positions to be a consistent goalscorer but neither was he the kind of target man to hold the line. As for Taylor I like, looks a great little player but I get the feeling he may go the same way as JET, as I'm not sure where Mick will be able to fit him in the team in a 442.

IMO Mick is building a 'Mick' team full of hardworkers who can play football but lack that bit of extra quality, he's building a type of team he's had success with before so I'm sure we'll be in for a decent season.
