I agree, Atcham - it is vital we build on the momentum from the last four games. I predict another 1-0 win (Rodgers the scorer) in front of a 3500 crowd.
Won't be able to make this one; finances dictate I have to pick and choose my away games very carefully! I think we might struggle as they're not very good - exactly the kind of team we don't play well against. I'm going for a disappointing point with a goalfest - 3-3 with Marv, Richards and Jones scoring in front of 3,712.
3,250 unhappy Iron fans watch Shrewsbury beat their heroes 2-1 with goals from returning 'wunderkind' Rodgers and the marvelous Marvin......that could make a good headline (?). If it's as good as my other predictions lately then it may not be worth the trip.....but what else is there to do in January??? My prediction for Swindon-Portsmouth would have looked great but for an ex-player, was that really the same player?....as would Mr. Constable's brace over the break. For those re-sitting exams......discuss the merits of discussing the merits of ex-players!!
will el tel be playing his last game for rochdale on 5.1.13, will he don the blue and amber again, will our youngsters help our marv to a 3rd away win and a goalfest at scunny. answers to all these question on the back of a woodbine packet to gt and rw
Atcham, see one of my other posts on loanees (yesterday's). Will el tel return? (he was only going to get game time, remember?). I suspect we will never know the truth whatever happens, these things tend to be 'arrangements' between managers. e.g. if he does well you might want to make us an offer OR do well on loan my boy and when you come back......
it occurs to me that rochdale's manager coleman has got more out of el tel than gt. i wonder if el tel and gt have had a deep seated fall out. with our marv possibly off to pastures new, the thought of el tel and lukey baby up front could provide a goal machine with bradders and pase doble in reserve. much of towns recent success's is due to team bonding following the dumping of loanee lemons and lukey baby's presence imo.
I doubt if we will see Gornell again - if we can recoup what we paid for him we should let him go. He has scored some classy goals for us but otherwise goes missing in matches - we are in a battle to retain our League 1 status and we need warriors like Rodgers and Morgan. It might be nice if we could swap Gornell for Ashley Grimes who I think is a better player.
Scunthorpe 1-3 Town . confidence up hoping we have tuned the corner goals from Morgan, Hall & Taylor attendance 3,076
We've gotta win this one and as mentioned above we don't do well against teams who are beneath us, especially one that has a losing streak at home! Scunthorpe 1 v 2 Shrewsbury Rodgers, McGinn Att 3700 Come on you blues
Lenny, how can you take points of us all with a 3-3 prediction? According to radio one goal would have been a surprise! At least the crowd predictions were better than the result. Apparently the defence was good; anyone who went can confirm this? Could almost make next week's prediction now (1-0) but may wait to see if GT signs a stonking striker.....is Grant Holt fit, suspended or rested? Anyway, well done Shrews, keep the run going.
Three clean sheets on the trot is no mean feat and I would gladly have taken 4 points from two away games before the Coventry game. Due to the small numbers of experienced players available to us over the festive period a lot of the players will have played six games in a relatively short time so a point today is probably not a bad result.
