Apparently Chelsea are conducting a feasibility study on building a new stadium at Old Oak Common, having decided that there are no viable options for a new stadium closer to Stamford Bridge. As far as I am aware there are no formal agreements/commitments signed as yet between us and whoever owns the land/ Mayor's Office/railways, we've just had statements of intent, so the field is still open for competition......
That would be very disappointing. The safety in it for us is that most of their fans would hate to move to NW London.
Thought they were going to Nine Elms or Earls Court? https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?i...859811444463.0004ae7555340816369c6&dg=feature
Silver lining could be that they might see their way to letting us move to the Bridge; ready made stadium, no need for planning permission etc. I'm sure if TF asked nicely, Roman might be prepared to consider it......
I'll probably stand on my own here, but I would gladly swap for a location in SW London in comparison to the **** holes of Shepherds Bush and Harlsden.
Exactly Nines, they might even leave a few replica trophies for our cabinet just so we can get used to the feel of them...
Come on Nines, the planned new stadium will be part of a massive shiny new development. They're not going to build it on Harlesden High Street.
Someone is trying to spoil my lunch. This is the stuff of nightmares - we finally makes strides towards a much needed new stadium then the scum step in to muddy the waters. Tell me it ain't true.
Aaaagh, that is such a melancholy and heartfelt plea that I have to put you out of your misery - I made it up for April Fools Day. Reveal slightly earlier than intended, but I don't want to damage people's health.
Ah well there's much better April fool spoofs around than that. For example, one newspaper reports that some of the world's wealthiest men invested £200m in what they thought was a football club but ended up with a retirement home for ex-players and managers. Ridiculous!
