I like how they take a single quote "I have an idea of where I'd like to tinker with things." and somehow work out that he wants Liam Lawrence.

Yeah -I reckon this should be taken with a pinch of salt really - these journo's are funny! But £1.5m for him in January! Yes please! We have Erik the Viking - we don't need LL!

Hhhmmm - short memories and a bit unfair on LL methinks. He kept playing last year through injuries, having oxygen treatments and injections in his knee to get him back on the pitch too soon because we were so short of players. And he didn't complain either. It's no wonder he still isn't back to full fitness.

Agreed 3rd Eye - he put his health on the line for us last season - but he has had the summer and 16 games this season, plus pre-season to get his fitness back up to be the player we all know he can be - yet that has not materialised this season! He was not missed on Saturday against Forest - so £1.5m for him. I think we should let him go!

I don't know - maybe he ought be rested for a while to let his niggly injuries heal properly.

We keep playing him because we don't have enough, or the right options in the midfield. After an intense fitness programme we could the see if he still possesses the ability that we all saw last year. If then he doesn't cut it then let him go.

Sorry 3rd eye, must agree with Mike on this one. LL flatters to deceive - would much prefer to see young Ryan Williams on the right wing. At least he sticks to the flanks, and can put a good cross over into the box.

In fairness to LL he has improved a lot in recent games- he was shocking at the start of the season!

Get someone lined up to replace him, and I'd be more than happy to accept £1.5 million for him though. All of that is profit, remember...

We need Liam Lawrence- he is one of our hard-tackling yet attacking- minded midfield players. Not sure Erik is up to it just yet- and Mullins will always be defensive.

On a side note- if only we actually signed that Whittingham bloke from Cardiff- great attacking midfield player who is the Championship top 5 scorers- we were linked with him towards the end of the transfer window.

However, £1.5 million for an out of form 29 year-old ?? Take the money and buy a goal machine from League 1 !! <ok>

There is a very interesting article on Sky Sports by the Watford manager Sean Dyche who "feels the club's youngsters have regressed as a result of playing first-team football too soon". Cotterill, used to say, very badly, that the youngsters were too young to be thrown in to playing week in and week out. Young Ryan Williams has just turned 18 (less than 2 weeks ago). Maybe he had a point. But he also used to say that we need a creative midfielder, so maybe £1.5m could do that.
