http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16638001.stm Good work Brendan. Looking forward to the next 3 years and on
He's always said he wanted to stay at Swansea so a 3 year contract is great news. I was wondering if he insisted on certain conditions in his new contract regarding the team and club development? I guess we'll find out soon enough. Lets just hope that they don't cock up the paperwork!
I did state on some article over a week ago, that he would sign before the end of January, so looks like we are there, good news indeed! He's come a long way since his 'Tealady days', cue the Knackered Aussie.........................
Well he wouldn't sign if he felt the club weren't going to match his ambitions so theres a lot more to savour yet.
Must admit Rodgers really fell on his feet, getting the Managers job here, after his Reading experience, trying to get players playing the way we do, is not easy, as Rodgers found out at Reading, but in fairness to Rodgers, his football philosophy, and dream got him to come to Swansea and apply for the job, and it's a marriage made in heaven, if you ask me, as it preserved our continental style of play that so refreshing from, shall I say the Stokes of this world, nearly said Sunderland then!...................
ok he may or may not have some get out clause in his contract and everyone knows my views on that, i dont think there should be any in any circumstances, if you sign a contract then you stay until that contract is over or if the club agrees to let him go. I am however glad he waited and did not rush into things until he felt the club has the same ambition as his own and obviously we do, this is the best news of the season and even though Brendan is not perfect he is hopefully learning from his mistakes he has made and will go on to be one of the greatest managers the swans has ever had........
I've said it about the players and now it applies to Buck. I think contracts are basically now a way of a club guaranteeing decent compensation/transfer fees when personnel move on.
Mr Rodgers is a gr8 signing for the club, i have tweeted him that if he needs assistance myself, Dai and the rest of the gang here are available for consultation (awaiting a reply)
