    Dean Shiels - Kilmarnock
    Steven Davis - Glasgow Rangers
    Charlie Mulgrew - Celtic
    Jon Daly - Dundee United

So who do you think will win Scottish player of the year then?

Davis has had a fairly good season. He started fairly well, I felt he lost it for a bit once we lost Naisy though. After Xmas he came into some really good form and was fairly inspirational once the **** hit the fan for us. Some thought he was burdened by the captains role, but I feel he grew into it.

Jon Daly has banged in a barrowload of goals for Dundee United and has scored a lot of vital ones for them.

Charlie mulgrew (the only Scottish candidate) has been very consistent this season and would seem to be a very improved player on previous years. He has a good scoring ratio for a defensive player.

Dean Shiels has proven that it's not all about nepotism at Kilmarnock. Not only scoring the winner at Ibrox earlier in the year, but being a key part of the Killie team who defeated Celtic in the League cup final.

For me the outstanding player in Scotland this season was Steven Naismith. You don't get the player of the year award for two and a half months though. Would he have sustained that form consistently throughout the season? It's a moot point.

Anyway who do you think deserves it?

Can only comment on what I've seen but I'd say it a toss up between Mulgrew n Daly.

Mulgrew has been a real surprise for me, I watched him at Aberdeen a few times and he was utter pish, but he's performed well for Celtic and has a cultured left peg.

Steve Davis has been pretty pish for me this season.

Dean Sheils has done well at Killie and Big Daly has to be one of the most consistent SPL players of all time.

As for the POTY, that's a hard one for me, no one has excelled that I can think of, MacKay-Stevens at DU looks a good prospect.

    Is this players player?

That's the only one that counts

Not counting Mulgrew because I'm a Tim and Davies because he's a hun...

    Shiels

Instrumental for Killie and he won something this year

I honestly have no idea why Shiels received so many nominations but the people he's played against seem to think he's had a good season so who am I to argue. I'm biased but i'd say Chuck will win it.

Just think if roles were reversed , I can assure you Rangers fans we be all over our grave a lot more than we are over yours ..i am a Celtic man not a Rangers hater , but football is all about rivalry . I will admit my life is a lot more relaxed now , I even listened to your game on the radio today and laughed as you scored . In the past the radio wouldn't have survived !!!

That sounds almost sinister Harry! Seriously though I know you're not a hater.

So who do you actually think would win the player of the year seriously. I'm actually with Edge in that I don't think there has really been anyone absolutely outstanding this season. The actual football seems to have been overtaken by events elsewhere.

I'm actually getting really bored with all of it. If it's not the death of Rangers it's the Neil Lennon stuff. It's really tedious. Nobody actually seems to talk about the players at the moment. It's just all the same old rubbish to sell newspapers.

I think Mulgrew has been the most consistant, but I think I would probably go with Daly as he's done his thing with a smaller club.

Don't forget we won 20 games on the trot something Rangers have never done. The player of year should come from the outstanding players from that time Rogne !! No victor !! Young player of the year , ,Ledley, yes ,but the player of the year over the season the player that made us tick , James Forrest

I would imagine Forrest will be in with a good shout in the young player of the year.

I'm surprised he was not in both categories, I don't see why he was not nominated for POTY.

Afraid Mackay - Steven will win the Young POTY and he could also have been nominated for full POTY
