Scottish Football - What's the point?

Watching Spurs vs Hearts just reminds how much better English foitball is to Scottish. The Hearts defending is atrocious and they are making Tottenham look like Brazil.

The league is pathetic because two teams are only in contention in the title and they are not the best when it comes to better opposistion and why there are 12 teams in it I don't know.

Why does this league exist, I mean the only could thing about it is that Premier league clubs can loan their players out there for experience, other than that it is just a boring boring pointless league.

 

Hearts fans are leaving early which is a bit baffling. They may have to wait years to ever see the same quality opposition that Spurs are providing. Given that the usual oppositions are the likes of Aberdeen and St. Mirren I'd be there until the end.

 

Judging by what you're saying, why should any league worse than the Premier League exist? Why bother having an Albanian league or a Russian league if the teams aren't as good as Premier League teams

The reasons for this leagues is for locals to have a local team; not everyone in the world follows the Prem!

I understand that but what i'm saying is we have scottish fans mocking our national anthem & laughing at England going out of tournaments when the quality they have is poor. Apart from Scottish fans the league doesn't really excite many people considering the battle is always between Celtic and Rangers.

If the league was more open I may have a different opinion but for the moment I don't see that changing.

If the SPL were larger with teams playing eachother just twice then the title would be much more open. Feel sorry for Hearts' new manager though, Romanov is a nutjob.

 

To be fair giventhe state of the football we have to have something to laugh about mate! Money talks at the end of the day and sadly there aint none of it in the Scottish leagues, as for the excitement part for the other 10 teams in the league its all about not getting relegated, terrifying and exciting at the same time. Oh and i do pop along to the odd aberdeen game once in a while, its a grand day out watching 22 men murder football

Well most of the Scottish teams struggle to fill there stadiums, Celtic and Rangers are asking to enter our league (But not willing to climb there ladder) and the Scottish National Team is worse than the English one so it's definatly a league on the downfall. But then again, it's there league, the scottish people seem to be content with it, and therefore they have a right to have a league

 

I hate the abuse the scottish league gets. Its a country with one tenth the population of england and still supports a football league system which has produced loads of talent, players and managers, and contains two of the most well supported clubs in Britain.

The only reason the Scottish league is ridiculed is because it gets enough press attention to put it on english radars. Clearly it is a much higher standard than the Irish and Welsh leagues (along with many other European countries), but they don't suffer the same abuse.

We are in a really **** position just now.

Our big cousins regualry plunder our league and we aren't producing enough players to fill the void left.

When Rangers and Celtic can no longer compete financially with Blackburn or Cardiff, despite probably having 400% more fans, then you can see where the problem lies.

But we are ****ter than normal just now.
