...just what is the secret to their success? With Paul Lambert being the latest exciting managerial prospect to appear from north of the border, can anyone explain the quite incredible list of successful managers from Scotland? Sir Alex Ferguson Kenny Dalglish David Moyes Graeme Souness... Paul Lambert Alex McCleish Owen Coyle ...please add anymore you care to mention...
You can remove these from your list: David Moyes Graeme Souness Paul Lambert Alex McCleish Owen Coyle and replace with George Graham.
I misinterpreted the OP as "great scottish managers who have managed in England" rather than "decent scottish managers who do manage in England". I was confused by the word "successful" and that someone mentioned Matt Busby. Bill Shankly - he were good.
The thread title was "Great Scottish Managers" so you did not misinterpret, you misunderstood, therefore it's no real surprise that the word "succesful" confuses you, half the words in the Oxford dictionary probably confuse you.
Had the thread title been "Great Scottish Managers" then I would not have misunderstood however the thread title is "Scottish Football Managers" so indeed I did. As for yourself, I'm not sure you could distinguish between your "erse" and your "alba" as they say round your way.
