    SCOTLAND'S Parliament will be responsible for billions of pounds of extra tax and welfare spending under a radical devolution package to be unveiled today.

    The Smith Commission on Devolution will hand Holyrood huge new powers to set the rate and bands for personal income tax in Scotland and control over a third of Scotland's £10 billion welfare budget.
    The historic power shift from Westminster should see the Scottish government’scurrent budget of about £30 billion boosted by over 50 per cent.
    The deal, trashed out between rival political parties in the space of just two months, represents the biggest shift of power from Westminster since the inception of the Scottish Parliament in 1999.

    "The SNP will not be given economic levers like corporation tax, personal tax allowances or the ability to set the minimum wage, which remain at Westminster to prevent a jobs race to the bottom."

    So can they lower income tax?

    If not Edge has just got his worst possible result - SNP with only tax raising powers and no ability to attract business or high net worth individuals

    They are lowering the Corporation Tax in Northern Ireland to 12.5% - you could move your business over, and join the Vanguard Bears.

    Welcome to Sturgeons Socialist Utopia.

    Mantra;

    "Don't fret if you are too lazy to take a chance to better your life, why don't you just blame the guys who have succeeded whilst you continue to waste your life smoking drugs and arguing with equally spasticated mutants on twitter"

    "The State ****s everything up? Give them more money to **** things up even more"

    I'm off to Belfast. Who'd have thought further Scotch devolution would lead to more Ulster plantations. :rolleyes:

    I think the Scots should be breathing a massive sigh of relief right now that that common sense prevailed and the "No" vote won.

    Had the "Yes" vote won, the SNP's economic plans would have already been in a financial mess. The Independence campaigners put far too much emphasis on oil revenues to finance their plans and based all their calculations on the trading price of $113 per barrel.

    Oil today is trading at just over $68 a barrel.

    Ooops.

    It'll go back up eventually. Saudi Arabia is deliberately not cutting production to keep the price artificially low to try and economically harm its oil producing neighbours like Iran, probably encouraged to do so by the West who are fighting ISIL/ISIS who are coining in millions $ a day from their oil fields.

    The Smith omission with a whole load of nothing in particular. Just give the uppity Jocks perfunctory powers to shut the ****ers up meanwhile we shall keep all the stuff that really matters. Works every time with these mugs.

    And so ir does.
