Lots of twitter posts suggesting Parker to have a medical over the weekend. Might be so much BS though as there is also one suggesting he's having a medical at Downton Abbey.
Well that could fit in. Spurs have today signed Paulinho for 17m (who is a midfielder). Perhaps they were waiting for that to go through before committing to sell Parker?
Latest twittering suggests medical tomorrow (Monday). Might be complete balls but I'd welcome him with open arms.
Spurs now want £5m for him and he wants loads of money. Wed be incredibly stupid to go through with this.
If Taarabt has really messed around like this then it's time to get rid of him. I don't say this easily because the moment he walks out of the door I will be heart broken! He's a ranger. Yet he is just the bane of his own career and we can't have him breaking discipline. The other players will learn it off him or think that they can get away with it if he can. There's no room for a child in the team. But it will be painful to not see his football at LR any more. Also, if that's true about the rise in price for Parker then forget him. We already have some good midfielders. A couple of additions in the front and back will be better.
I like Parker but he'd have to come to us on Championship wages with perhaps a large promotion bonus, however unless I've missed it, we still need to lose some in the middle before we gain.
That tight c*nt Levy always tries to extract every last penny from every deal, but Parker's not worth £5 million of anybody's money...
West Ham want Scott Parker back from Tottenham but QPR are determined to win the race 10 Jul 2013 22:30 Hoops' Fernandes is willing to back Redknapp by buying the experienced midfielder while Hammers fancy a loan Hot Spur: Parker's Tottenham days may be coming to an end, but he's in demand Paul Gilham Tony Fernandes is leading Queens Park Rangers into the battle for Scott Parker's signature - but faces opposition from West Ham. QPR supremo Fernandes is personally involved in trying to back manager Harry Redknapp's move for Tottenham and England midfielder Parker. West Ham are among the other clubs interested and Parker, still highly regarded at 32, is keen to stay in London. However, while the Hammers can only stretch to taking him on loan, relegated Rangers are prepared to pay a fee to Spurs for Parker's services. And Loftus Road chief Fernandes is trying hard to see off the competition ahead of next month's Championship kick-off. Parker is considering his options, following last week's £17million arrival of Brazilian Confederations Cup hero Paulinho. The signing of the 24-year-old midfielder from Corinthians has pushed Parker down to fourth choice at White Hart Lane. Redknapp, who signed him from West Ham two years ago, remains a fan of Parker's leadership qualities and see him as the player to spearhead the club's efforts for a quick return to the Premier League. The move for Parker has only come about after concerns expressed behind the scenes at Loftus Road over Tottenham's possible demand for a transfer fee combined with Parker's £70,000-a-week wages. QPR chief executive Phil Beard vetoed a move for another 32-year-old England international, left-back Wayne Bridge, on the basis that the package to sign him was too expensive. But Parker is seen as a player still very much capable of competing at the top level, and Redknapp has convinced Fernandes that the former Charlton man can lead the club back into the big time. Once QPR managed to sell defender Christopher Samba back to Anzhi Makhachkala, the Russian club they bought him from in January, they began to seriously explore signing Parker with Fernandes taking the lead. The clear message from various reports suggest ............... ( as some of you have already listed ) * Parker not keen to drop a division for fear of not going / being picked for the WC. * Parker wants too much money. * Crouch ..................... ( ditto, thereabouts the same ...... see above ) Previous thoughts - Would love to see them both at our club. Current thoughts - Forget them, not going to happen ......... give them a deadline of 24 hours with our terms. Time to think with the head and not heart............................. NEXT !
He's a great player and still got it at top level but 5 mill is too much to throw away again. We've done it repeatedly over the last 2 seasons...will we ever learn? I wish TF and Harry would read some of Flyers posts on this subject. BUT, realistically: If you were Scott Parker with an outside chance of going to the World cup next year and playing another couple of years in the Premiership; then would you move to QPR and face Hull & co?....even for the sake of loads of money and "The Project"? I know exactly where I'd be going on loan...
He wouldn't necessarily be a first choice at West Ham, they've come a long way since he moved from them...
thats fair enough Sooper, but they came looking for him. He hasnt asked to leave (or i havent read that anywhere)? He'll get the majority of games in the prem and at his age that would suit him perfectly. IMHO
Is there a rule that England players have to come from the PL? If he came, and if he did as well as we hope, could he not join the England squad??
I know its a joke but it is basically an unwritten rule, as is players coming from big clubs getting in at the expense of players from smaller clubs. How else do you explain 1 goal Wellbeck playing for England?
