A strange title I know, but thought you might be intrested in reading my articles on the above players.

My choice of EPL player of the season so far (LINK deleted Spurf)

And my choice as Englands greatest ever player(LINK deleted Spurf)

I think you can guess which is which!

Good luck for the rest of the season and hope to be playing you again in the Prem in the next few years!

Parker has been enormously important in Spurs rise--and he won an award last year. But if I were to give out an award for player of the league in the prem it would be

    1. Silva: best player on the best team
    2. Bale: the only world 11 member in the Prem.
    3. van Persie: the best scorer by a long shot.

However despite the decent articles linked, this site is not for advertising your personal websites I am therefore deleting the links. If you would like to post the articles on here that will be fine. <ok>

Fair enough. Bale it is. Silva and van Persie wouldn't walk on to Barca's team.

It is my opionion that Parker has allowed Bale, Modric and RVV to play with a greater freedom than before his arrival. I also agree that Bale is a truely world class player and would get into Barca's team. Summing up Bale is the better player, but Parker the more important if that makes scense?

Its hard to pick who Man Citys best player is I would lean to Silva but strong arguments could be made for Ageuro, Yaya and Kompany.

The reason I chose Parker was that, maybe with the exception of RVP he is the most indespensable player in the top 4 or 5 teams.

Good to have a bit of debate about it though.

Tell me you're not serious!....Gascoigne had far more all round, way more gifted than both. Scholes tackling being about as effective as Hoddle's for start! Only you could put Scholes and Gazza in the same sentence...dream on!

Luke loves comparing great players to any half decent players Man Usa have/had.

Giggs would have a greater claim but Scholes while being a top player just does not have the magic that puts Gazza in a very elite group. You will have to back to George Best Luke.

Utd have only ever had one player as talented as Gazza imho and it isn't Scholes, Giggs or Best.

Considering the amount of alcoholism in the Man Utd squad at the time in question, Gazza probably would've gone even further off the rails at a quicker pace, Lidls.

I have taken the op to mean the greatest who played in England but you are probably right he means English.

Then I would say we look at:

    Stanley Mathews
    Dixie Dean
    Duncan Edwards
    Jimmy Greaves
    Billy Wright
    Bobby Moore
    Gazza

Almost impossible to compare these players from different eras.

Give over Luke, Scholes and Hoddle had shortcomings, Gazza had it all. End of conversation.

Nutter and The Spanish Imp played against Scholes, but not Gascoigne so will be naturally biased. A minority of fools is quite normal, so don't worry you're not alone! :D
