Celeb Q&A - Bristol City hero Scott Murray Trusted article source icon Profile image for The Bristol Post By The Bristol Post Friday, June 28, 2013 Follow You've spent a long time at Ashton Gate over the years, what are the highlights? Winning promotion in 2007 (to the Championship) is probably the biggest highlight. There was also the 2003 LDV Vans Trophy win in Cardiff and my Player of the Year award from the same year. It has to be the 5-4 win at Mansfield Town in 2002. We were 4-2 down with three minutes left. A Brian Tinnion penalty, Leroy Lita's flicked header and a screamer from Christian Roberts secured all three points. It was a remarkable turnaround. What was the low point? Losing the play-off final in 2008. We were one game away from the Premier League only to lose out by a single goal to Hull City and Dean Windass. I wasn't in the squad that day but it still hurt an awful lot. It would have meant so much for the club. Alex Ferguson has been replaced by David Moyes…what makes Scots such good managers? For a start Scottish people are brought to work hard. Alex Ferguson and David Moyes were both working class men in Scotland, and even in my family, discipline is important. You should never cross a Scotsman. Goal-line technology, are you in favour? Yes I am. It works well in other sports like rugby league, cricket and tennis. If it crosses over the line, a TV review will add some excitement anyway. Who's the best manager you played for, and why? I had my best season under Danny Wilson, so probably him. But all the managers I played under had their own strengths that I learnt from. What are your hopes for Bristol City next season? Following relegation from the Championship everyone's focus at the club has been about bouncing back stronger. We've seen a bit of business in the transfer market already, with some more to follow I'm sure, and hopefully we can have a season to remember. What do you like about living in the Bristol area? It's a beautiful city. Everyone's really friendly and I'm lucky I even get Bristol Rovers fans coming up to me to enjoy some friendly banter. What would you change about the city if you were in charge? I would ensure Bristol had a stadium to be proud of in Ashton, saving me spending £6 (or however much it is) crossing the Bridge into Wales to watch concerts too. Oh, and making it easier to park in Clifton please.
Thanks hawkmoonfy2 Been a bit busy with going to work on Saturday morning, and then to weston super mare for armed forces days
