Ok - here's the first rumour about new players coming in.
I've heard City are after Scott Loach of Watford.
It would indicate no new deal for Jamo and would be competition for the No 1 spot with Deanno
    Any thoughts?

Yep i would love loach to come in, We've been interested for some time now, Although he would have to be 2nd to deano, gerken deserves next seasons number 1 jersey with recent performance's and it would be great to have someone of loach's quality as back up, James can be offered a coaching role. He would be silly not to take it.

Loach isn't going to want to move from being number 1 at Watford to number 2 here......

He would be a very good signing though if Del wants him in

Angelic i know it isn't permanent but Watford have Kuszczak in goal, they brought him in because loach was out of form, so perhaps he might want a new challenge?

All bets are off as far as the existing squad is concerned - Del will bring in players that he considers will improve what we have here, not no. 2's or "cover" as its called as we don't want "cover" for those who finished just off the bottom 3...

Have to say I agree with 100%, I think we are all going to be surprised with the people he will drop next year. He has played with the cards that he had left on the table, he will build his own team next year to drive us forward.

He will already know that securing the clubs championship status what sort of players he wants.

Hasn't Nigel Spink been brought in as a goalkeeping coach?

It may only have been until the end of this season but if Jamo was being lined up for
that role why did we need to bring Spink in as well? I don't think James will be around
next season unless his current contract terms say we are obliged to make him an offer
like it did last season. If that is the case then someone made (another) big mistake imo.....

Loach has been a keeper i have admired for some time and we were linked with him back in january. He is current sitting on the bench for watford but will they loan in another keeper next season or will he be back as first choice.

If we are singing him it would have to be as first choice. I think Gerken has played well over the last few games but he wouldnt be my first choice.

My choice would be Alex Smithies of Huddersfield who has come back from after missing the first half of the season and has looked in good shape. At 22 he has a good career in front of him. Another decent youngster out there would be Ben Amos (who cant see him getting many starts at Man Utd)

If we can lure a good goalkeeper you might be in with a chance for Scott.

I wouldn't mind us making a move for Henderson. In the few chances he had here he was impressive and given Portsmouth's relegation I'd be willing to bet that he'd be willing to come back if guaranteed first-team football. I like Gerken, but I still think he's not Championship quality and that sitting on the sidelines for James (or "learning" as some were putting it last year) during such an important stage in his career didn't do him much good.

I think James should hang up his boots now, leave on a high and take up a coaching role at the club. I'm sure McInnes would be happy to have him as a goalkeeping coach. If not, see if we can swap James for Henderson.

Failing that, as said above there are a bunch of young Premier League talents that would love a crack in the Championship. Ben Amos would be a good shout.

James has had his £2m plus out of us,move him on we've got Nigel Spinks as a gk coach and he has done wonders for Gerken of late,we need a class act for 1st choice gk next season..

Jamo is great but expensive and we can do better with the money..

If we went for Loach then surely it would be as direct competition for the No1 slot with Deanno
