Clint is still injured and will miss the USA v Scotland game. Another old favourite, Carlos Bocanegra takes over as Captain - http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/top-football-stories/injured-clint-dempsey-set-to-miss-scotland-tie-1-2313974 In some ways I'm pleased about Dempsey's position. It scotches (no pun intended) any conspiracy theories around the Spurs game and given the number of games the USA have in such a short space of time it won't do him any harm to keep his feet up for the friendlies.
If Demps goes, what about Michael Bradley (24) son of the ex-USA coach? Here he is scoring in the 5-1 drubbing of Scotland - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2SSZfLiO70&feature=player_embedded He's currently playing for Verona in Italy and hey, can't be at all that bad, Alex McLeish didn't rate him when he had a loan spell with Villa.
While not wishing to downgrade the US performance,Scotland are a very, very poor team, the film clip showed that the US played with ability, coupled with a great player understanding, and they did this without the injured Clint Dempsey and Brek Shea. Landon Donovan we could have done with him pairing with CD. Shea & Bradley to Fulham ? could be worth a gamble There is without doubt some great soccer talent coming from the States, an area well wort keeping ones eye on.
