Put my name forward to join the supporters club. Hope I get accepted. Few questions though. How many tickets can you buy when buying the tickets? and is it worth it? Would quite like to go to Prague with a couple of friends for the Czech game mabye even go to Lithuania aswell
Depends on the game. For most games, you might get one ticket, but with a lot of the games , the demand outstrips supply, and tickets go to members who have been to a lot of away games. Very unlikely you would get any tickets for Prague, and def none for mates.
Depends on the supply & demand as has been said. Czechs might give Scotland 5000 tickets, if there are 10000 members it would go to the 5000 members who have been to the most recent away games & the number of away games they go to. Best thing to do to build up your membership is to go to the ****ty away games that nobody else bothers to go to. Prague/Spain will be flooded with Scots, Lithuania will not. My mates uncle was in the English Supporters Club. When he first joined he went to all the away games he could, all the friedlies etc to make sure he was high up the list for the next qualifying competition. He can get tickets to any England game he wants, he doesn't nother going anymore & simply sells them on & double the cost, he usually gets about 5 tickets too. At the World Cups he gets tickets for the games as well as buying tickets direct from the FIFA in advance of the draw etc. Few years back he got Holland v Germany tickets & made a fortune in selling them on....other times you get USA V Cameroon & you can't give it away but he does it every year.
A lot of what Brum says is spot on , but the SFA are making it harder for non members to get their hands on tickets, even if they have been bought by travel club members. They have tried getting fans to pick up tickets on match days, and provide proof of identity when collecting them. My mates have done all manner of dodges to get round tis, and usually manage, but it is getting harder.
I've not missed a game at hampden for about 6 years and I've been to two away games yet a wee fannybaws like you wants ticket for yourself and mates but joining a club online! Away and blow me ya prick, yer no getting a ticket!
This was a few years back Staggie, no doubt its harder for folk to do that - he had to prove he actually went to games before he started selling them on to stop people doing exactly that. A country like England with so many people could have 1 million members in their supporters club, how do you begin to decide who gets tickets etc in that scenario? Young kids will never get the chance to see their country play if all the tickets go to members.
Brum Lithuania was class when I was there last time and there was 3500 Scots altogether. Now we're thinking of going to Liechtinstein this time. For the big games its one ticket per member at Hampden
SFM - my point being there will be 20000+ wanting to go to Spain so less chance of a ticket there or for the Czech game in Prague. He has more chance of a ticket to the lesser games.
