He has a good pedigree and it is hard to blame Wotte (or Poortvliet even) for our relegation. With Lowe in charge and instructing them to pick kids clearly out of their depth they were doomed to failure. Looking at the kids we introduced that season and seeing the level where most of them are playing at now I think it is amazing we got as many points as we did.

I liked Wotte, he was passionate and kept us going throughout the summer when he was out of contract, he worked his socks off without getting paid and was always committed to the club

    Good Luck to him :)

Still can't help but feel this is bad new for Scotland. Both of them looked pretty clueless in Britain, and in general i'm against foreign coaches being given jobs in this country.

Wotte was less clueless than Portalloo...we would've went down a lot quicker if he'd stayed for the season!

I'm no fan of Wotte, but I rated him more highly than Jan. And remember, he stuck round when he could have walked in that awful summer, deserves a little respect for that....if nothing else.

A little bit of respect for Wotte and pleased to see he has some employment.

I think if you compare Portaloo and Wotte-the-****'s points per game ratio, Wotte-the-****'s is only one tenth of a point better. Given a season both would have taken us down.

Hmm... I had sympathy for Wotte. It wasn't his fault that the squad was being stripped. There were some decent players (Davis, a young Surman, Saganowski) but with a squad made up pretty much of 18-21 year olds we had no chance.

I feel for Jan Poortvliet. It seemed like he was just as out of his depth as some of the kids Rupert wanted him to use. Think he lost quite a bit of money too what with having to pay his own compensation to Helmand Sport. Apperently Wotte acted like he was manager even when he wasn't. The circumstances were pretty tough on JP.

the fact that Wotte was marginally less clueless than Portvliet is no recommendation!! He was a clown as was Portvliet, the pair of them couldn't organise a hand job in a brothel. the fact he is going to scotland as performance director says more about scottish football, than it does Wotte.

Having had an awful round of golf today I was looking for something to cheer me up. Here it is

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/13886219.stm

Mark Wotte the Dutch Ian Branfoot has been appointed performance director by the struggling Jocks. First Whisky George and now this clown.

This is the nation that gave us Jock Stein,Sir Matt, Bill Shankly and Taggart, surely they can find someone better than this.

Is this the daftest football appointment since Tony "Winehouse" Adams?

My round of golf was none too special either LD..... What with the wind and the bloody rain.............Our Scottish friends obviously see something we cannot in our old friend Wotte. It will be interesting to See how long it will be before they are searching for yet another person to save their team. It certainly isn't him...unless he has learned some lessons.............
