Seems bizarre that Scotland has had his contract paid off when were in such dire need of goals.. he served the club better than most of late, cheers Jason and I'm sure someone will snap him up <applause>

Terrific servant to the club after quite an indifferent start under Keane, but under Jewell looked a useful asset to the squad and must be commended for staying on this year and taking a pay cut to do so.

Obviously Mick doesn't see him in his plans and I think all Town fans will wish Jason well as he always seemed to give his all for the shirt. I imagine in League 1 he'll be able to score a few goals in what time he has left at his prime

Big shame IMO. Still could offer us something. I geuss its horses for courses. To me he has more quality than probably any of our strikers, he's a proper footballer and to me so far what I've seen McLean is a far worse player than him but I geuss McCarthy likes to go for the more mobile workers over quality!!

As you say KOPR initially didn't look good under Keane (who did?) but worked hard last season and looked like a new player and got into shape and showed a great attitude when coming on as a sub in games and again in taking a pay cut when he (as far as I'm aware) was entitled to a better deal.

I understand that Mick wants to go for the 'younger' players but I don't think any of the strikers he's brought in are better than Scotland.

PTC I would say you are thinking with your heart instead of your head. He has a fantastic attitude and proved that last season when, as you say, he seemed like a new player. BUT he is 33 years old and hasn't played a full 90mins in a very long time. If we want to build a team for the future then we need to get in players that are young with a point to prove.

I hope him all the best for the future, he has had his up's and down's but leaves with his head held high in my mind <ok>

I agree with Wrighty. Jason has been a good pro in his time with us but it is time to clear out the cupboards and look to next season and beyond.
Thanks for everything Jason, I hope you find yourself a decent club to finish your playing days at.

strange idea really. He had the same workrate and willingness that Mclean looks to have and more of a goal threat. Not a long term option but could of done a job till the end of the season (and please say we havent given him a pay off aswell)

It does seem that way TB. If we have fully paid up his contract then it makes no sense, we should've just kept him 'til june and it would have cost the same. If we have paid a partial amount then I can see the sense in saving money and clearing another body off the wage bill.
