My friend Carole made me a Scotland flag with a rampant lion on it together with Leeds and Yorkshire. We then started sewing/making these and selling them to Scotland fans in the seventies. I've got really nostalgic about my things since I've written my books but unfortunately sold alot of it off including my flag. It's made me wonder whether that or the other flags we made have survived or not? It would be great to know they were still around so if ever you see one like it, please let me know. please log in to view this image
I enjoy reading your articles. A very loyal Leeds fan and one who has seen our ups and downs more than most. whitejock on here probably has one of your flags!
Thank you. Yes been there and done it so to speak. One thing is though, despite troubles along the way in my earlier days of following Leeds, I wouldn't change it for the world. There again due to bribed referees, we would indeed be handed the European Cup Winners Cup from Salonika in 1973 and the European Cup in Paris in 1975. We will always be Champions of Europe!
I was lucky enough to follow the great Don Revie side and Billy Bremner was and always will be my hero. At that time we had at least 7 players who were in the national squad hence we followed Scotland too. I won a trip to the 1974 game against Brazil in Frankfurt as a Leeds United agent and went wearing all my Leeds things. I don't really follow international football anymore although I did get into the World Cup more in the latter stages this year
