Medieval suits of armour were so exhausting to wear that they could have affected the outcomes of famous battles, a study suggests. Scientists monitored volunteers fitted with 15th Century replica armour as they walked and ran on treadmills. They found that the subjects used high levels of energy, bore immense weight on their legs and suffered from restricted breathing. FFS WTF did they expect wearing a ****ing metal suit. Seriously how ****ing much did that study cost?
Money well spent if you ask me. I only hope that immigrants were doing the experiment and getting paid handsomely for it.
I think these 'scientists' should do an experiment where they investigate what happens when we cut off their oxygen supply for a few hours. What they also fail to take into account in experiments like this is the ****s who wore this **** in medieval times did it on a regular basis and would be used to it i.e. strong as ****!! It would be like me trying to carry a soldiers gear on a 10 mile run, it's not going to happen because I'm a ****ing weakling compared to these guys who train every day of their life.
You have to feel sorry for the other poor sods who used the local Fitness First that night though don't you? they must all have thought they were hallucinating.
Did they kill the volunteers after? Just to see how long the lived for after being shot with an arrow?
"How are we getting on with that cure for cancer?" "I dunno, I'm too busy trying to work out how many fruit pastilles it takes to choke a kestrel."
research worth every last penny. like this http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2004/dec/31/food.foodanddrink "Fast food is definitively bad for your health, a 15-year study of people's eating habits has confirmed."
To be fair, I doubt the sort of scientists who carry out experiments like this are likely to also be searching for a cure for cancer.
Good spot Trev. Stereo - You're right. These scientists divide their time quite evenly between trying to choke kestrels and vegetarians. However, I've requested they focus less on the birds of prey, and more on the birds / gays. Expect a call. Mind you, I'd imagine you have quite a high choke / gag threshold...
