So in the pinkun today Ian Clarke seems to have gone off a little early, but with only the fairly meaningless game against Wednesday remaining here is his school report for the class of 17/18.

For the eagle eyed amoungst you he has missed a few players who have contributed, I will add them to my list in a follow up post.

    Bah!

    Daniel Farke – grade: 6/10
We’re told his project is a work in progress and we’re asked for patience.
He has a crucial summer holiday to do more rebuilding on his squad. Next term I want more positivity, boldness and tempo.
    Angus Gunn 7.5
Rightly got third place in the player of the season contest. The “we’ve got Angus/he’s one of our own” chants in his honour at Carrow Road on Saturday showed how much he means to the Canary faithful. The lad has a great future - we must dream that at least the next chapter of that is in NR1.
    Ivo Pinto 6
Deserves credit for taking on the captain’s armband and his passion and energy make him a fans’ favourite. Lacks consistency and has become the second best right back behind Harrison Reed.
    Christoph Zimmermann 6.5
Has a never-say-die attitude and displays the character that is so important in this league. THAT header on the ground at Wolves was one of my favourite moments of the season.
    Timm Klose 6.5
It’s been a tough season for Timm and all his defensive colleagues. He seems keen to stay and that will be a big boost for the City faithful.
    Grant Hanley 8
Proper defender with an 80pc success rate in tackles and 68.1pc in aerial duels. Make him skipper for next season and build the backline around him.
    Jamal Lewis 7
One of City’s most exciting prospects and has shown maturity beyond his years to cement his place as first choice left back.
    Harrison Reed 7
My fingers are crossed that Southampton stay up, which could mean he remains with us for another year. Tenacious, tireless and talented.
    Mario Vrancic 6.5
I’ve taken time to warm to Mario but he is clearly a genuine talent with a killer pass in his locker.
    Moritz Leitner 6.5
Classy addition to the heart of the team who has given us glimpses of what he can produce. Snapping him up on a permanent deal would be a great coup.
    Josh Murphy 6.5
Fans have started saying he’s had a “Josh day” which is shorthand for brilliant, frustrating, confident and nervous all in one afternoon. Seven goals is no mean feat - but they come from 86 shots (a third of the strike rate of Madders).
    Wes Hoolahan 7
What more can be said about the wizard? An 80pc success rate for passes shows he has remained top quality to the end. I should give him a 10 or 14 really...
    Tom Trybull 6.5
Injury has robbed us of a potentially big impact from him. His success rate for passes is 87pc and he averages 58 passes a game. If he can stay fit, he could be a star for 2018/19.
    James Maddison 9
Whatever happens to him now, we have been honoured to have seen such a fabulous player in a City shirt. He simply loves playing football and will wear an England first team shirt one day.
    Onel Hernandez 6.5
Great promise and he has the exciting burst of pace which we are crying out for.
    Alex Tettey 6.5
I’m really pleased he’s staying for another season.
His experience will be vital as the overhaul continues.
    *Nelson Oliveira 5.5
I expect him to be off after a topsy turvy season. Undoubted talent but the end result hasn’t been good enough.
    Marley Watkins 5
No goals in 1214 minutes tells its own story.
    Dennis Srbeny 5.5
I so want him to succeed but we have to sign someone more prolific

Can't really disagree with IC on this, with the pupils he had, I fancy a more seasoned teacher might have got more out of the kids, but with the radicle change of syllabus, perhaps little more should have been expected this year.
    Angus Gunn 8
A very solid and accomplished season for one so inexperienced, so few mistakes to recall over the season, would I have traded him for one more season with the championship keeper of the season? hell no, Ruddy needed to leave as much as we needed him to.
    Ivo Pinto 6
Always tries hard and great for class moral, be interested to see if he is around for next year as one of the remaining high maintainence students
    Christoph Zimmermann 6
diificult to judge big Chris on his own, Our defence still looks a little soft without Tettey infront of it, he has taken to the champioship well enough after a wobbly start, but still has a mistake in him and I would trust TK and GH ahead of him.
    Timm Klose 6.5
It’s been a tough season for Timm and all his defensive colleagues. Timm has though improved significantly since his first championship season. He was missed at the start of the season whilst injured,
    Grant Hanley 7.5
Looks the best of the CB bunch, solid, dependable and a real leader, but like the rest of the defence has still been party to too many goals conceeded when left without Tettey. If they could all defend better then a more forward thinking student could replace Tettey.
    Jamal Lewis 7
One of City’s most exciting prospects and has shown maturity beyond his years to cement his place as first choice left back.
    Harrison Reed 6
struggled at first, his diminutive stature perhaps not well suited to a defensive midfield role in the pitched battle that is the championship classroom. But steadily his all action displays have gathered influence and inspite of this ofstead inspectors misgivings even upto recently, he now looks like someone who would very much benefit the class next season. Spot on attitude for an exchange student.
    Mario Vrancic 6.5
Struggled hugely to start with, as a foreign student it took time for him to adjust to English, but now looking like a very propising addition for next year. Most improved boy.
    Moritz Leitner 6
I'm going to be somewhat controversial here and say that whilst he has shown the odd flash of quality, so far class results have shown little uplift with Mo in class. Like Mario, he perhaps needs more time to adjust to English, but for now he remains a very bright boy who must raise his game if given another year.
    Josh Murphy 6
difficult to Judge Josh too harshly, when he is favourite wide class, he looks a much better player, if played in a more central class he struggles a little. he is so inconsistent, that on any given day he could test to a 10 or equally a 2. Scored a respectable 11 house points in all competitions, second only to star boy Madders
Wes Hoolahan 5 Has rarely featured and shown little when front of class, there is good reason why he has played so little, OK that is chiefly the presence of Maddison, but also his own games decline. Always has a flash answer even now, but his essays now lack substance. Remember how few goals the class hit!
    Tom Trybull 6.5
Injury has robbed us of a potentially big impact from him. Looked good for a spell when partnered with Tettey, another non-english boy who hopefully will be even better for their first years foreign experience.
    James Maddison 9
Tailed off a little now, but what a year from the star boy, top of class for house points, surely without his moments of magic the whole class would have been fighting a relegation scrap. Would perhaps be a ten if the team had; scored more, functioned better and moved the ball quicker.
    Onel Hernandez 6.5
Great promise and he has the exciting burst of pace which we are crying out for.
    Alex Tettey 8
Simply too influencial to lose, when he's in the class has a resolve that can only drive up grades, when he is not, a soft underbelly is revealed that that horrible school orf ruffians in Millwall gleefully tickled.
    Nelson Oliveira 5
Dissapointing, seems not to get on with the new teacher and syllabus, but former high achieving pupil has had attitude problems and it has resulted in poor results and too few house points, a change of school may benefit class and pupil alike
    Marley Watkins 2
The Welsh thicko, contributes nothing to class, needs to find a school with either a more suitable syllabus or for the special.
    Dennis Srbeny 5
Tough to judge on so little, but looks well short of the sort of classroom heroics needed to make 15+ house points next season, hopefully one of the summers transfer boys can strart producing house points with Srbeny to sit at the back of class contributing if able.

    And those missed by IC

    Huband 4
Terrible start, verging on adequate when called on in the 3rd term. Much improvement needed to stay anywhere near top set.
    Stiepermann 5
A creditable job covering for the lamentable Husband, but remains to be seen if he is good enough in a subject more befitting his skills
    Wildshutt 4
Failed to impress before going on exchange, failing to impress whilst on exchange, some raw talent but it seems misapplied. May return and needs to pull his socks up to avoid dropping to bottom set.
Martin 1 (raised from 0 by moderation)
Once a middling student with the right attitude, now stumbles around defence class destroying the other students grades as well as his own, I think nurse gave him a labotomy! Has continued where he left off on exchange with a second rate Glaswegian school. Should be expelled but we may be stuck with him another year
    Franke 3
suffered from class with the blundering Martin and during Tettey's detention but did not show a great deal to be optimistic even accounting his class mates, has benefited from a return to more familiar surrounds, but jury is well and truly out as to whether he can survive an English class room
    Naismith 2
Has not impressed teacher and been shipped out on exchange, this ofstead inspector has certainly given up the mantra he could be important to class if fully fit and played for a good spell. Might have all the kit but still.........
    Jerome 4
Past sell by date, a mature student that could not learn new tricks, new syllabus didn't suit him and sounds like new teachers work ethic requirements were too much for him.
    Prichard 6
spent too much time in sick bay to show his true talent, lit up the classroom briefly before transfering to a more moneyed school
    Edwards 1
By all accounts a bad egg with poor application and attitude, might pass his written exam, but practical on defensive ethics proved beyond him
    Raggett 3
Only recently joined the school, but having transfered in from an inferior institution, he has been kept out of exams with the hope he can begin testing next year

    Webber 7
A tough job for the head teacher, due to shrinking budget and incompetent board, has done as well as could be expected, new pupils have in the main met or exceded expectation, the jury is out on the new teacher though. An important summer and year a head, the offstead inspectors will grow impatient if the work in progress fails to deliver so obvious improvements

    Bah!

    Bah!
