i dont particularly want him.we would be paying a lot of money for a reasonably talented player when we should be paying alot for an extremely talented player like sneijder or schweinsteiger. still, better than signing adam, rodwell or young! theyre all midtable standard at best.

I also wonder why SAF choose Modric over Sneijder where you can get him for less than 25 million?

I think he'd be a great replacement for the PL - he's shown he can adapt to the pace, fit in a 442 and open up PL defences. But I'm not convinced he will make a difference against top CL teams like Barca and Real. But then again, it's hard to think of players that would make a difference against Barca's midfield!

Schweinsteiger appears to be going nowhere this summer, and if the rumours are true neither is Sneijder. In which case, Modric might be the only real option we have to boost the creativity levels in our midfield, although it might be worth going in for Gotze or Costa as a long term option.

Modric would be a good signing as he has talent plus PL and CL experience which is important. Sneijder might be a great player but would he adjust quickly enough to the PL? Noone knows.

But I still think we need more of a leader in midfield rather than a creative spark. De Rossi is the clear choice here.

Of course Modric is not a bad player. What I'm saying is this replacement is will be same as 'Nani for CR7'.

Modric has been a lot better than Scholes in the last few seasons.
