In doing so, he confirmed he has now received contact from the French FA, who have told him he is in the initial 40-man squad. Although it's pretty much nailed on he won't make the final 23, it's good to hear that Deschamps et al have at least finally recognised him. DTLW
Good for him! Of course it would be a massive shock if he was picked for the final squad, this is a good indication that he can look forward to some caps in the future, and that he doesn't have to go to a big club to be recognised.
Very pleased for him...good that, although he probably won't go to Brazil, he is at least in their thoughts. Perhaps those daft rumours about him playing for England had some effect.
Made the 40! He should be in their top 5. The football powerhouse that is the current French team (They will no doubt win it now)

Agreed, beyond the endless speculation about Lallana and Shaw I'd started to be genuinely worried Morgan may look elsewhere. It's been clearly shown to our English contingent that playing for us is not a barrier for getting into the England squad, but Morgan was seemingly not even in the picture when he should have at least of had a call-up by now so his hand may have been forced if he really wanted to achieve his dream. Hopefully this will quell any of those thoughts if they do exist.
