So from what I can see from the highlights of the weekend he really helped push us on at the weekend. No doubt he has had not that many mins as he's not as disciplined as Fernandez (who i think is pretty decent BTW) but I like him. Sometimes you just need someone to say let's stop dicking around and get on the front foot. When it come from your CB all the better as it gets everyone up the pitch. We are pretty decent at the back but spend way too much time just inviting teams to have a go at us.
Thought Fernandez has been solid for the most part. Schar looked very tidy and when he came on I have to agree. I really like Ki as well, light years ahead of Diame who was absolute dogshit again at the weekend.
Schar and Fernandez look like a good combination, time to go for that ahead of Laecelles. Yedlin sometimes leaving them exposed, and Diame and Shelvey being useless clowns in midfield means our defensive is ridiculously overworked right now. We were lucky to win on Sat, but the change once Schar and Ki came on was obvious.
An Irish paper had Schar and Yedlin in their team of the week on Monday,I only saw MOTD which didn't show me much, how did they do?
The 4 CB's are the best we've had in decades from my memory. Id rate them in this order although there is really not much between them: 1 Lejuene 2 Fernandez 3 Lacselles 4 Schar Hounarable Mention: Clark
It's great isn't it? Genuinely can't think of a CB under the Ashley era that would get in over any of the above mentioned. We barely manage to have one good CB and now we have actual options
Rafa you legend. For a combined fee of £8m you've signed two very good looking CB's and got them playing ace. I would have had Lascelles as undroppable previously, now i can't see a way in for him for a while. In fairness to Jamaal his mentality is such that i don't think he'd have it any other way - get in on merit, earn your place.
