I wouldn't take that as gospel. There is actually no substance in what is written. It is purely speculation on what they hope will happen. It may well do,but don't bank on it.

lets be honest tho, if he wants season ticket sales to improve and get bums on seats for the home preseason games etc etc its what he should be looking to do. tbh at this time it doesnt even have to be the eyebrow raising signings just someone so it looks like were making an effort

Lets be honest Scally isn't an idiot, he knows if he wants to get money in and at very least stay in the league he will have to add players to our squad because the squad isn't good enough as it is and GFC isn't exactly full of die hard supporters. They come and go with the form of the team (which is fair enough as it's expensive!) and if we're getting battered every game they wont be coming at all. We will make signings soon i think that's pretty much certain but i'm not sure how eye brow raising they will be with our budget..

Summed up pretty well there,Harry. We'll obviously get some players to lift the spirits, but how good will they be ? I expect some stories will be floating about saying how we couldn't sign this player or that player because they wanted too much money, but they'll go to Accrington or Barnet or somewhere like that.

I would not be at all surprised if the Scally deadline of Thursday is once again extended in order to buy a season ticket at a discounted price. Something has got to happen between now and then to make people buy the tickets at the discounted rates. I wonder how many of last year's season ticket holders have renewed their tickets. I think that Scally had said about 2/3rds and that was a few weeks ago! That leaves a large number of people who are either waiting to see what signings are made between now and Thursday, or, they no longer can afford to buy a season ticket or do not wish to do so. Some, may even wait until the last minute, regardless of what happens off the pitch. As Harrygillz says, Scally is no idiot and I am sure that he will come up with some scheme to get bums on seats. My preferred method is to make at least a couple of decent signings to show that we have serious intentions of getting promoted.
