100% agree regards wilbs playing alongside Kojak Manager delighted with performance that merited more. Steve Cotterill was full of praise for his players after City outplayed QPR for long periods in a 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate. The visitors, who were missing top scorer Charlie Austin, looked devoid of attacking threat in the first half only to strike first 11 minutes after the break through Junior Hoilett.Hoilett hit the bar as his team chased a killer second, but City continued to test former England goalkeeper Robert Green before Aaron Wilbraham turned in Joe Bryan’s low cross to ensure a share of the spoils nine minutes from time.“I thought we were excellent today,” Cotterill told Bristol City Player HD.“If they don’t have Robert Green in goal, we go on and win that 3-1 or 4-1. He’s pulled out a couple of absolutely outstanding saves today.“The pass and move for the goal summed us up. I’m really pleased with the players. The only thing I’m disappointed about is that we haven’t got our rewards because we deserved three points today.“They’re very young and they’re all learning. If you were to look at the experience of our team today compared to the experience of their team, I thought we acquitted ourselves fantastically well.“I’m proud of the players and proud of the football club. The crowd today were magnificent and they’ve been like that since I’ve come here.“I thank them very much for the support they’ve given me. It’s vital in keeping me going to give me the energy to keep the players going.”The manager believed the energy levels of both his strikers were helped by leaving them out of the midweek trip to Derby County, as Wilbraham moved to five goals for the season.“It’s brilliant for Aaron,” added Cotterill. “He and Jonathan were excellent – now people might know why I play Aaron, because Jonathan Kodjia always plays well as well.“To rest the two front boys (in midweek) and then have them fresh today was very important. Their freshness was key to howwe drove the game.
Talking of being spot on we have conceded 6 penalties this year (one of the highest) and are one of two clubs who have not been awarded one
Who is the other? I thought last weekend it was us and Huddlesfield and we went and gave them one so left just us. Not saying your wrong just interested to know the other team
You are quite right it was over a week or so ago since I last looked ..we are the only one. Perhaps SC has point ?
I recall a very similar story a good few years ago, when Danny wilson was manager, and again we conceded a lot of pens withour ever being awarded one, in what is now L1. The fact Lee Peacock was one of our forwards and rarely got in the box was probably a prime reason for that season. Funny how some stats stick with teams.
At one time I believe we were the leaders in draws in the entire league but the memory is fading fast.
