He's out of football at minute looking to get back in.He was saying he only took managers job for Quinny as he had known him since his playing days with us and that he was dreading the fact we could go down as people would loose there jobs and that really bothered him.Reckoned Roy Keane didn't scare players just expected them to play at his level and couldn't understand why they were unable to.When sbragia took over we had a playing staff of 45 which he found hard keeping everyone happy but he managed to make us £16 million in transfers and cut the wage bill by £10 million aswel as keeping us up as lucky as that was.So all in all a master stroke by Quinny. The rest was talk of Bolton and man utd.
We stayed up under Ricky despite him not because of him. A nice enough bloke who should never have been put under such pressure. That was the biggest gamble of Quinnys life and fortunately it paid out. If it hadn't, I shudder to think what would have happened to the club. We wouldn't have survived yet another relegation without seriously negative and to be frank dire consequences. We can never allow that sort of gamble again.
On a similar theme, thank the Lord we stuck with MON even when the pressure was mounting, I shudder to think how much potential damage the resulting instability would've caused if we'd sacked him.
It was pure folly all day long. We have one of the best in the game today and certainly the best we have had in my lifetime and if he is here for another 3 or 4 years we will be a far, far better club altogether. I think the POB's still have a few miles left in their tank yet mate. Next 2 games will decide how that develops.
