    from here: http://whatculture.com/sport/is-ex-...about-to-join-the-newcastle-coaching-team.php

This has come straight out of left field, does that make it more likely or less likely to be true? i mean it's hardly a 2+2 = 4 rumour that lazy journos love. It seems like an unlikely move for both parties, but does that mean a journo would be less likely to make it up?

He's been a coach, manager and scout at Sunderland, obviously he'd be brought in as either a coach or a scout here, but i've no idea whether he's any good at either really, anyone have any idea? Personally I wouldnt mind him as long as he brings something extra to the backroom staff.

Any truth to this rumour? and would you have him?

If he adds something to our coaching/scouting staff that we are in need of then yes. If not no.

Read the article lads. He would come as the new youth coach as Joe Joyce left recently. And he was outstanding at coaching the reserves at Sunderland and Manchester United. Forget the allegiances with Sunderland for a minute because he is a great coach and I would be happy for him to guide our youngsters along the path to the first team.

I'm not arsed if he's affiliated with Sunderland. If he adds something to our coaching staff I don't see why we shouldn't look to sign him

Yeah he'd be a decent enough coach for anybody. However, should Pardew be relieved of his duties, I'm sure he would be the first to say taking temporary charge is a role best suited to him.
