I think history will be quite kind to Brucie.

It's true he made some odd decisions regarding team selection and formation.
It's also true we had a few awful runs of results.

    However.....

He did provide a kind of stability with each season ending with us in an improved final placing.

I thought he gave quite honest assessments after games and found myself agreeing with a lot of what was said.

We'll never know the full truth about how much he was involved in the Gyan and Bent situations and many of us can't understand why the left side and striker problems were'nt properly addressed but we all knew (I think) that he wanted N'Zogbia and for some reason, most probably out of his control, didn't get him.

I simply can't believe him being a mag supporter changed anything in his approach to the derbies. He's a professional with a reputation and wanted to win those games I'm sure.

I believe he was doing the best he could and I would say we are in a better state than when he first arrived here.
When some years have passed by he will be regarded as one of the (few) decent, proper managers we've had, along with Reid and Stokoe so ..All the best for the future SB.
He is more sinned against than sinner.

Now we have (I sincerely hope) probably the best manager we've ever had since the pre WW2 days.
MON wil surely take us to the next level which I reckon is between Everton and Spurs. It'll probably take a couple of years but with Hoots MON it's do-able.
    I'm certainly excited about him.

Steve Bruce did a superb job for us but he took us as far as he could. He was very lucky last season to have Welbeck who proved to be a top class player. He was also very unlucky to lose Gyan after the window had shut. Then there was Meyler and Mensah's injuries. You have to say he has not been a lucky man.

I think we should all thank Bruce for the job he did, he got us into mid table and he has risen the profile of the club so much so that the likes of MON want to take over as our manager.

It was right Bruce went but at the same time he has my respect and I wont be taking the piss out of him.

I was a bit gutted when Bruce got the job in the first place but I supported him, I am more upbeat about MON although he is not my first choice.

Steve Bruce thanks for what you did for us, so long and thanks for all the fish.

Bruce lost it somewhere. He did a solid job at first, but you can't argue with our record since January. Bloody awful...
