    Saville Signs..

Midfielder arrives on 93-day loan deal.
City have completed the emergency loan signing of Wolves midfielder George Saville.
The 21-year-old arrives on a 93-day loan in time to link up with the squad for Saturday’s visit to Scunthorpe United in Sky Bet League One (3pm).
Manager Steve Cotterill said: “He’s a young boy who is driven and brings a lot of energy. He’ll come in and fit in well with our lads.
“We lost Todd Kane so I felt we needed another who can run in there. I just feel, with all the competitions we’re involved in, we just needed something extra.”
Camberley-born Saville came through the Chelsea Academy setup, switching there from Reading at the same time as now Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers took the same path.
Saville’s only involvement for Chelsea’s first team came as an unused substitute in the League Cup and Club World Cup.
After a brief loan spell at Millwall, Saville joined Brentford the 2013/14 season, playing 44 times and helping the Bees win automatic promotion to the Championship.
Last summer Saville left Chelsea for a permanent move to Wolves, who had pipped Brentford to the League One title months earlier.
But chances have been limited at Molineux, and now Saville has the opportunity to stake a claim in City’s League One promotion chasers.

    Tavernier seals season-long loan switch

“We were looking at James last year. We’re pleased to be able to bring him on board, especially after losing Todd Kane who was able to play that wing-back role as well.

“He’ll give us extra legs and quality during our run in.”

A right-sided defender, Tavernier came through the Leeds United Academy before switching to Newcastle United on 2008.

In total he played just 11 times for Newcastle’s first team between 2009 and 2013.

However, he did benefit from a raft of loan spells at Gateshead, Carlisle United, Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Shrewsbury Town and Rotherham United.

He won promotion with the Millers via the League One play-offs last season and then made a permanent move to Wigan Athletic in the summer.

He has made just four appearances for the Latics to date and now has the opportunity to challenge for a first team spot with Steve Cotterill’s City.
