I am in a ****ing savage mood right now - we are bottom with half a point a game 1/4 of the way through the season, caused directly by the failure of the board to listen to the vast majority of supporters who could see that the bloke in charge wasn't up to it.

A lot of us posted that if you left Millen in charge, the only way we were going was down, what a shame you actually had to have it proved to you before you acted and the new manager has been handed a bit of a poisoned chalice..

This is maybe not the time to be writing this but my blood is boiling right now. This club is in tatters and it will be a massive job for whoever the new manager is to turrn this drifting oil tanker around as the momentum is not an easy thing to reverse and confidence seems to be very low. He needs to be bloody talented and hit the ground running....

Maybe next time, you will realise that as supporters of the club, we have its best interests at heart and are not just sniping for the sake of it and on that topic, I really do hope that you have listened to us this time and haven't gone against the vast majority of fans....

POB - I don't doubt that you're boiling over and you are definitely entitled to your opinion but the problem is that if the Board listened to every disgruntled fan, they would never make a decision. Some wanted Millen out straight away, others wanted him to have 10 games or some other time line to see if he could cut it.

Personally I agreed with your early season thoughts but ultimately we have to trust the club's management. Some they get right, some they get wrong. What they cannot do is conduct a poll of online posters such as us and base their decisions on what we say as we, or should I say "I" as I have no idea what your background is, are casual supporters with no knowledge of how a footy club is actually run.

Let's all hope that they make a better call tomorrow and that we escape our current predicament and move upwards. What we can't do is sit and mope as that will get us nowhere other than a deep depression! It's never been easy being a fan of an underachieving club but this is the cross that all true fans in Bristol, on both sides of the fence, have to bear.

    Keep smiling my friend.

Hi Tampa, agree with your points entirely however I am not just talking about this season, I said it halfway through last season (as did others) when the writing was on the wall. ...

By this point, we had stopped playing anything resembling exciting football, I bearly remember getting out of my seat (in the Atyeo) in some games whereas the one thing that you could never say about BC before the last couple of years was that you stayed sat in your seat all game, especially the years when Scotty used to go raiding down the right. I was up and down 20-30 times a game, oh for those days now..

GJ started stopping playing attacking, exciting football when he failed to sign a decent forward that 1st season in the NPC - if ever you could look at a pivotal moment in his and our history, that was it - we were playing some fantastic stuff up to then and even my Dad was very impressed (very difficult!). Then we signed Dele and it was all downhill from then for the football and the team.

Its a shame that old 606 has been wiped or I would be able to point to the post I made the time that GJ was ill and KM "stood in" for a short while and he came across as a rambling incoherent in the post match interview. I clearly remember saying NEVER let that man near the 1st team but....

Frustration getting the better of me I'm afraid now that we are were we are - its unfair on the new manager really...

Look on the bright side lads.

You have a striker who 'could walk into half of the teams in the premier league' and is 'valued at at least 8m'.

tampa...Absolutely spot on, none of US come anywhere near the management potential of the board, whether we think they are morons or not...everything has to take its course, YEP afew of us wanted to see if he cut it, after all he did keep us up twice.

Our problem still seems to be the TEAM, OK last 2 games played with a bit more enthusiasm and guile but just cant seem to hack it.

The new man could quite easily shock us all with his first couple of teams, I would say the only safe selection is Addy, maybe Kilko nyatanga MCg and Marv as well.........

New MAN NEW BRUSH if he picks the team this weekend...probably went to the game tonight before going back to Perth.......

    DJ

    McG, Niagra, Stewart, Wilson

    ADDY, KILKO MARV, JCR

The sad fact remains that aside from a little glory under GJ for a couple of years our clubs senior management have proved time and time again over the past decade or so that they make bad, or sometimes worse, no decisions, when its been critical for them to do the right thing and not do nothing at all.

Now what was I saying about chairman and owners of clubs not knowing anything about football ?? Look at us now....

It's difficult - we don't want knee jerk reactions, but it is frustrating that 95% of the people knew a change was needed weeks before it happened - in our last 7 games we have amassed one point - maybe the appointment of a new manager before that may have seen a bigger points haul?? We will never know, but one point is not much to beat!!
It's time to dust ourselves down, stop feeling sorry for ourselves, get behind the new manager, and get behind the lads on Sunday - we are in this together - the comeback starts here!!!

....should have started with SW's FIRST GAME we should IMO be on 10 points now -3 against P'BORO and -1 against CP

    aNGELIC...
If you were sat in the board room, which you will probably never do, or any of us..( I have actually sat in the board rooms of LEEDS and Brum unofficially, but that dont count) you might appreciate the error of your statement as fact...you only see what is going on during or after decisions are made...smh got it ..we dont want knee jerk reactions...

and before the red misters start "I told you so last year 2 years ago or whatever" everything has a timeline.................

New manager starts 20th October...loses 6 draws 3 and wins 1 What do you do now!

New manager starts 20th October...carries on loses 12 draws 5 wins 3 so has played 20 games half the season almost, give him more games, or bite the bullet...

IF it is McI THEN YOU CANT BLAME THE BOARD...THE VAST MAJORITY ON HERE WANTED HIM!!!!
