Got me season card , got me car sticker , got me Stoke red jacket ( daren't wear the stripes I'd look like a viking longboat in full sail ) and I've got me hopes pinned on a good performance by our lads and several goals in the visitors net.
I'm banking on 3-0 to us.

    Kos kick
I think we're all excited mate, more so because of the new signings.
Get plenty of shut eye on Friday and ENJOY it. Where are you sitting Kos?

Hi Potts , for the Villa match , my season card seat was taken , so I will be in a spare seat , but after that I will be in Qrailing Lower , roughly in line with the arc of the penalty area , more or less where I sat for the Real Betis friendly. I've got my inflatable cushion sorted. I'm raring to go.

Hi everyone - like you gents I'm really looking forward to the match on Saturday. I was at the pre-season friendly v Real Betis and was very impressed by the way we played & especially taken with the new signings. Bardsley made some very good interceptions, Diouf looked as though he could be a great asset & goal scorer and Bojan, well what can I say........he was tremendous!!!
The signs are good, so let's hope that they click on Saturday and score a few against the Villa.
    Up The Potters!!!!1

Bloody Viking longboat in full sail! You had me making an un-ladylike snort laugh in a very serious team meeting. I had to cover by saying I was checking my phone because I had a message from my child-minder that had turned out to be a funny picture! Lesson learnt.

    Bring on Saturday.

Think we will win this but not by the 3 goal margin mentioned.

Any thoughts on the likely team selection against the Villa? Does He pick all of the new boys or does he blood them slowly? The team performed very well over the final games of last season so does he stick largely with the team that finished least term?
All very interesting questions and I wonder what Hughes will do.

    Crouch and Walters up front
Wilko and Shotton at the back
    Whelan as midfield dynamo

Still thinking will decide tactics first, perhaps a fluid 4-4-2 or an exciting 8-1-1

    Will sort it out later

Thanks gentlemen! I'm a regular reader of the posts on this site but have not gone into print for some time.
It's so good to see such talent in the Stoke team, and as you say Nick, if our attacking formation click (and they have that touch of luck that's always needed) then we could see quite a few goals.
I'm sure that the Brit will be rocking on Saturday - can't wait!!!
    Enjoy the match everybody.

    Thanks Pottermouth.
Nick - I'm not related to the ex Stoke City & Welsh International John Mahoney. I used to play, at an amateur level, for a few teams local to where I live and some of my team mates very kindly  likened my style to that of JM.......enough said, I was enthusiastic but very average!
I recall the days of Tony Waddington and the players that he brought into the club, including John Mahoney (If I remember correctly, from Crewe), so was lucky enough to watch Alan Hudson, Jimmy Greenhoff and many more players of that era play for us at The Victoria Ground.......Happy Days!!!!!
So when I see Stoke signing the likes of Arnie, Nzonzi & now Bojan, etc, it makes me reflect on those days when I saw very skilfull footballers in Stoke colours.
