With there being no Tuesday night game either side of the game Saturday, we should really play our best 11. Whether Peter Taylor knows what his best XI is remains to be seen but he should have a rough idea. With it being the biggest game in their history, I would imagine that they'll bring a reasonable away following as well as plenty of fight. I can't help but feel that playing a weakened team would be asking for trouble. This would be my team for Saturday's game: Nelson Harriman, Barrett, Davies, Martin Hollands Whelpdale, Lee, Linganzi, Dack Kedwell Subs: Howard, McDonald, German, Akinfenwa, Weston, Gregory, Miller Finally, can someone tell me, can you pay on the day Saturday?
I would give some other guys a try, don't be disrespectful to Brackley but at least give a chance to the fringe players. I would play this: Howard Harriman Davies Barrett Martin Hessenthaler Linganzi Gregory Dack Akinfenwa McDonald Subs: Nelson, Mckain, Weston, Grant, Hollands, German, Kedwell. I think you can as its a set price.
Okay cheers, I remember seeing Jake Hessenthaler come on against Millwall in pre season and he played well (albeit against a weak Millwall Xi at the time). I just don't want us to underestimate Brackley, although I can't see Peter Taylor being the sort of manager to do that.
This is where I read he will be. http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/sport/taylor-frustrated-by-legge-dismissal-8347/
Gemini - I posted on the FA Cup thread yesterday this... OTiC - Charlie Lee is available for the FA Cup on Saturday. I picked up a tweet from the official twitter page this morning confirming. Gillingham FC ‏@TheGillsFC 13h We just want to clarify that @charlielee06 IS available for the #FACup game against @BrackleyTownFC on Saturday. He is not suspended. #Gills ....................... You might have missed it because the two threads became naturally split and i stickied this one as I always try and give other member threads priority over my own. ....................... I've copied this from Al: The confusion stemmed from the two yellow and subsequent red card he received against Crawley Town earlier this season. When players receive two yellows (producing a red) in a match that earns a one match suspension they are not included in the totting up procedure after 5, 10 and 15 yellow cards that earn automatic suspensions. I think I'd rather him be suspended for this game personally. It won't be long until he's suspended for a league match then.
A rare "home" game for me, coupled with it being my birthday (yes I want presents from ALL OF YOU) I am hoping for a win. I can't see the point of playing the reserves when the first team needs to get into a winning habit, so I expect a full strength squad
This could be a banana skin for us,but if we approach the game right then we should win the game.Brackley are three leagues below us,but will be confident as they`re in the top part of their League. This is their biggest game in their history, and they`re expecting 400-500 to travel. That is a great turn out as their crowds are around 300.The prize money for going through is £18,000 pounds,so if we go through that could help with a loan signing or two.I will be at the game on Saturday, and im looking forward to it.It should be a great Cup tie. Team? Im not sure what Team Taylor will play,as he hinted that he could play Kedwell at CB,and put Bayo upfront! But here is the Team I would play.Im glad Lee is not suspended and can play.I would play Davies in place of the suspended Legge,I would start Dack as he played well on Saturday, and Cody who did well when he came on.Hopefully they can grab a goal. Nelson Harriman,Davies,Barrett,Martin Gregory Whelpdale,Lee,Dack McDonald,Kedwell Subs:Howard,Butcher,McKain,Hollands,German,Weston,Akinfenwa
Been on the online ticket sales site and there are a huge amount of season ticket holders not taking up there usual seat. Can see this one being a v low attendance. Said it loads of times before but STH should really have a cup voucher in the book to use when they want. Whether it be for JPT, League Cup or FA Cup. Also notice that you cant buy in Block G of GRS...guessing we may give this to Brackley if the heavens open. Would be a nice touch COYG
I purchased my tickets on Monday but a very valid point you make harryheadbutt about cup vouchers. When I went into the ticket office I noted a leaflet by the ticket window offering £1 for kids and some £5 incentive for the Oldham game, just glanced at it did not read it in detail. Hence why i continue to ask why i need all these kids for a quid in my book. Cup incentives for STH's would be far more useful. I think if i was to change anything though and i still cannot for the life of me believe the club don't do this, it would be in regards to all 1st round tickets sold, regardless of STH....for every 1st Round ticket sold they should issue a voucher, that voucher should then entitle you to a priority basis for the 2nd round, then if you hold both 1st and 2nd round vouchers, it should entitle you to a 3rd round voucher. The only flaw with it is how to stop the vouchers being sold on if a non STH.
They would have a record on the system who had bought these tickets so no need for vouchers. Then the 2nd/3rd/4th or whatever round tickets could only be purchased buy that same customer i suppose. It gets me that that none of the vouchers really benefit the person who has paid for the ST in the first place, which is why a cup voucher would be a nice one too add to the book....thats for another topic though. Will be a tough game on Sat, if we try to play the passing game, Brackley will be more comfortable. Have a feeling we will go for Bayo up top and play more direct. Looking forward to seeing Mullers back at Priestfield COYG
Preston have given permission for Mousinho to play in the Cup, time to earn himself a contract as they obviously dont want him back
if you happen to be around the usual place mate...i'll buy you a birthday beer...expect you still have my number. Let me know via PM.
