Coventry and Pompey have home games against teams that have nowhere left to go in the league next Saturday in that Doncaster are already relegated and Derby are drifting in mid-table and are 2 teams that could be accused of having no further interest in winning. We on the other hand are facing a team that could prove very dangerous because they could still be relegated so the points on the table are as crucial as any this season to both City and Barnsley. Basically winner possibly takes all and the loser is left with a knee trembler of a fixture on the final day of the season. If this weekend's results don't go our way then it will be between us and Pompey on the following Saturday each with a potentially difficult away fixture, but of course that could prove totally unecessary should we beat Barnsley. So roll the dice and let's hope that we can get the winning combination of a City win vs Barnsley. Keep the faith lads! Have I got my maths right?
Hi Mike - no, Barnsley can't be caught by Pompey or Coventry now so they are safe I think I would rather have faced them with the pressure still on them really....
Oops I suppose Notts Forest are still in the mix and they play away at Pompey on the final day - could prove interesting!
It's between us Pompey and Coventry for the final 2 spots, we have a great advantage being 5 clear with 6 to play for
If we don't manage a win on Saturday after all this hard work against 3rd and 4th last two games. And Portsmouth and Coventry win. They both need to win their last game against Southampton, could still be contesting for League champions spot for Coventry can't see them getting from that. Portsmouth need to win at Forest who should be too strong for Pompy. I think that we have the easier of the 3 of us for the last game. But win on Saturday it's all over for this season, we go above Barnsley, could go above Forest. So a win at Burnley we could be finishing 19th or 18th if Petersbourough fail to win their last 2 games. Now who predicted that a few weeks ago?
Let's hope for an early goal on Saturday to settle us down. I would take nothing for granted in this division although one would hope that Barnsley won't exactly be going out all guns blazing as they're safe. It's been a hugely enjoyable few weeks as we have completely turned ourselves around. If we can get any sort of consistency, next year will hopefully be less nervy. Fingers crossed for Saturday!
Angel, you could be right, I said 9th, but then again I had Watfford 24th, Florest 6th and WestHam 3rd! good job banksy didnt read this he doesnt like people getting their maths wrong! LOL
Only you fella, the rest of us seem able to live with our mistakes.. We don't feel the need for a few INDIGNANT CAPITALS here AND there..
