Seriously, I don't know how you guys do it, staying up until the early hours on Saturday evening to watch 20 seconds of highlights if you are lucky at about 1a.m. ish!

The biggest thing I miss about Pompey in the Premiership is being able to watch their entire game on SKY and then extended highlights on Match of the Day with Gary, before retiring to bed with the good lady skate.

By the time I have (like Colin) sunk a few Stella's I can hardly stay awake that long and I start to get a bit twitchy, even if we have won!

How do you Saints manage it, do you have to take some sort of medication to keep you up(Viagra springs to mind)or are you natural dwellers of the night? Any recommendations as to how I should stay up at night to achieve full satisfaction( of my football needs)?:emoticon-0116-evilg

    SB3,

the best way of staying awake is to put your head in the fridge, and get your "good lady skate" to slam the fridge door repeatedly on your head. The icy blast on your face coupled with the warmth on the back of your head should enable you to stay up and watch the football league show. Please let me know how you get on. ;)

Sorry to interrupt the humour, but you are right, SB3, coverage at this level stinks. No point in even buying Sunday and Monday papers. Sooner we're back in the Prem and actually exist according to the media the better. Have to say though that I have enjoyed this league in many ways, just don't want to stay here

Its not much better in the Championship to be honest.Whilst the papers do give a brief match report , generally the TV coverage is dismal. I really miss SKY coverage of every Pompey match, you could watch the entire match again in the early evening which provided we played well I did, I did not generally watch the entire match when we lost badly though!

Up springs a chant of 'You only watch when you're winning' <laugh>

i think the coverage of Championship and L1/L2 football stinks full stop. The TV and newspapers hardly cover it all, and the timing of the football league show is a disgrace. To me it is a clear sign of the bias, and the over indulgence with the premiership that too many people show. Even when Saints were in the prem i would not buy sky. i will not put money in murdochs pockets and perpetuate the charade of the premier league.

Yep, I cancelled my SKY direct debit when Pompey got relegated<wah>

I still have the SKY box and loads of Freeview channels though, including what was SKY3 and SKY News, just no SKY Sport, films or the cartoon network!

Terrestial TV coverage of any footy outside the Premiership is appalling though. More so, even when ITV had some good old fashioned FA Cup ties that had prospective giant killings on the cards, they televised live the all Premiership clashes instead. Pants.<grr><steam>

could be an oppertunity for DAVE to boost their ratings if they covered championship/L1/L2

i bet sky wouldnt ignore Non-Prem games then if they thought someone else was getting in on it.

We are unhappy with the amount of coverage we get now but what will we feel when we are back in the top flight.

Will we forget how we feel now or will we still feel that the fat cats get too big a slice of the cake.

I'll probably be able to live with the unfairness of it all when we are in the top flight.

I din't have sky when we were in the prem, and I wont get it when we get back! coverage on free to air channrls will still suck when we are in the prem. The mismatch of revenues between the fat cats and the rest will still stink. football needs to get its house in order. Too much money goes to to few people in football, and players take too much!

So, if there is less tv coverage, maybe that should encourage more of your piscine colleagues to go to the match.(did you see what I did then?):)

Seriously though, I recorded the Ireland/England rugby to watch when I got back from St Marys the other day. For some reason I haven't found time to watch it yet. ;)

Haha Channon. Don't watch it. We were dreadful. To SB3's point. I just man up and watch it at 1am. Only if we win though. I do miss the days of the premiership though. Saints weren't in the Prem when Football First was started but I am jealous of that as it would be nice to watch the whole match.

I just watch it online in the morning. Then I can skip to the 30 seconds of Saints :emoticon-0100-smile

Haven't we been on Sky about the same amount this season as when when we were in the prem? 4 or 5 times if you include United game.....

Claridge is right (not a sentence you hear a lot). We should have done better than we have, but, to be fair to NA, we'd have been safely in second and nudging Brighton if we'd had the form under him throughout the season. We should be second, but that means little without a lot of hard work between now and May.
