Saturday's card at Chepstow is already looking like a cracker with the Nicholls/Walsh combo sending out some early "big guns" in the shape of Hinterland and Slightly Tanned in the first 2 races, plus some more recognised sorts later on including the chase debut of Silivinico Conti with Champion Court, Cue Card and Michael Flips possible opponents. This card is shaping up to be a Corker with a capital 'C' and in the bumper we may also see Nicholls represented by Wiffy Chatsby, who I'm sure was Sir Barney's Prefect at Big School. The National Hunt season is upon us Anyone got any whispers / rumours / tips /thoughts or otherwise for Chepstow on Saturday?
Hi Odd, That novice chase is looking a cracker if they all turn up. For Non Stop can be added into your collection of classy hurdles going chasing, although possibly a grade lower than the aforementioned. However, chasing is a completely different game to hurdling, and it will depend on who can pop the fences best i reckon! Another horse to look out for on that card is Domtaline from the Nicholls yard. In his last run he was going just as well as Grandouet when falling and could prove to be very useful this season.... you heard it first here !! haha
Quite right Smokin and it wouldn't be beyond the relams of fantsasy to see Mr Nicholls trying to go through the card on Saturday. I am currently visiting my parents in Sheffield so hopefully I'll be able to see a few races on the old goggle box. Juding by the weather we've got this morning I would expect lenty of give in the ground come the weekend
Silvinico Conti is down as a possible RSA contender for me and I think is pretty well thought of. The match-up against Cue Card will be very, very interesting.
Mr Henderson only has 1 entered which devalues the card somewhat but that apart it looks a very healthy fixture. The 19.5 furlong novice chase looks particularly strong with Cue Card, Champion Court and Silviniaco Conti all pencilled in. The bumper similarly looks a haven for potential stars. Oddy, I think Whiffy Chatsby sounds like a character in a PG Wodehouse novel. And a terrible old rogue of a one at that.
