4 I like the look of tomorrow and 1 bit of strong info.

    2.05 Kempton

    Chapter and Verse 10/1

Mike Murphy's 6 year old comes here on the back of a 5 month break but has gone well fresh in the past so I am not concerned about him not being race ready. Although 3lb above his last winning mark, he won very impressively by 2.25L that day and certainly looked to have a lot in hand. Furthermore, he put in a very good effort off a mark of 94 and was beaten by 1.25L in a Listed race, where the 3 horse in front of him were all rated 105 or higher. Although it is a concern he is winless since 2010 over C&Dand he finds it very hard to get his head in front, he definitely has the talent to win off his current mark in my eyes. Mike Murphy is in very good from at the moment and Ryan Moore is a very eye catching booking as he is teaming up with this trainer for the first time. Although everything will have to drop right for him, I certainly think under Moore's guidance he can go very close at a nice price.

    2.50 Cork

    Katla 14/1

Looks very overpriced in my eyes. John Grogan's 4 year old is twice a Listed winner to date, including a 6L victory over Barefoot Lady as a 2 year old. She comes here on the back of a very good 2nd in a Listed race at Dundalk two weeks ago, especially as it was over 5f and on the back of nearly 6 months off the track and she has needed the run on the back of previous absences and should definitely strip a lot fitter for that effort. This C&D winner should relish the step back up in trip to 6f as it is clearly her best trip. Jockey Seamie Heffernan takes the ride for the first time tomorrow and I am very hopeful she can run a very big race form her good draw in stall 11.

    2.55 Haydock

    Top Smart 12/1

Was a lot to like about his win on his last start and I certainly think he won with more in hand than the 6lb penalty he has been given, although the form of that race has worked out pretty badly. Although he's stepping up from a Class 4 to a Class 2 a, he has finished a 2L beaten 3rd in a Class 2 before off the mark he won on his last start so I certainly don't think this challenge is beyond him. Dominic Elsworth, who gave him a beautiful ride the last day, keeps the ride on Seamus Mullins' 6 year old in an attempt to maintain their 100% success rate. Although this looks an extremely open race that Brian Ellison seems desperate to win with 7 entries, I certainly don't think that Top Smart will not be better than his current mark during his career. With ground and trip looking ideal, I think he has a great chance of going close in a good race.

    3.20 Mussleburgh

    Oil Strike 14/1

Oil Strike is another horse that finds it very difficult to win and is actually still a maiden on turf, although I am convinced he is just as good a horse on turf as he is on the AW. During his time with Peter Winkworth this 5 year old won twice, including off a 3lb higher mark. He has a myriad of other very good performances off similar marks in the past, including finishing a head 2nd off this mark and a very unlucky 3L 3rd off a 2lb higher mark last year. Oil Strike is now with Mick Easterby and this will be his 2nd start for his new trainer, with his stable debut coming back in February on the AW where he travelled into the race very well before fading in the final furlong. That race was on the back of a 6 month break and considering he has a poor record fresh I feel he will come on a lot for that effort. Although he tried to make all on his last start, Oil Strike has no problem from coming off the pace which should definitely be beneficial given his poor draw in Stall 10. With his trainer is good form at present and under the guidance of James Sullivan, I am 100% convinced Oil Strike can with off his current mark of 85 and if everything falls into place for him I see no reason why that can't be tomorrow.

The strong info is for 5.00 Cork Legendary Times FC 10/1.

Patrick Flynn's 6 year old comes here on the back of 6 month absence, but has a fantastic record fresh. In her two efforts on the back of 4 month+ breaks, she has a record of a very unlucky 0.25L defeat in 2nd and a very easy victory. Although 12lb above her last winning mark (broke slowly that day and still won eased down), she is only 1lb above her mark when finishing 2nd at Wexford back in August, where the winner won by 2L off a 9lb higher mark on their next start. Tomorrow's race represents a step back in trip which looks sure to suit and Shane Gray takes off a very handy 4lb in this Apprentice handicap. With her trainer in good form and a very good record fresh, I am confident that Legendary Times can go very close to winning this at a nice price.

    SOLAR DEITY 4.55 KEMPTON

Marco Botti said he was better handicapped than stable mate KINGSDESIRE who won off a mark of 85 first time out last weekend.

Quite possible that he has had a problem though RV as it's taken a long time getting him to the track

Possibly Stick. There is some excellent value around today for punters. MARVELINO is a very big price at Kempton (7/1) he shaped really well for a long way on debut and the experience may well count today. EXCEL BOLT has had a gelding operation and is 2/2 at Musselburgh 16/1 is massive. SHABORA comfortably holds Switzerland on form and is improving yet one is 5/2 and the other is 15/2 crazy. Barzalona has just the one ride today before riding at Longchamp tmz. TACTFULLY is around 7/1 and looked very impressive first time out - no way that 2nd run is her true form. ROBIN HOOD (9-2) looked a group horse when winning first time out this season, good performance off the lay off and considering most of O'Brien's are getting beat first time out. Surely not that easy ?

The two most interesting horses today for me are both unraced.

PICTURE POST cost $570,000 as a yearling but didn't make it to the track for John Gosden. Sold for just 9,000 since but the yard won this race with DARLAN last season.

INFANTA BRANCA - First one by Henrythenavigator I have seen on the track <ok>

Lookin forward to HentheNav offspring. Which race is that RV.

I did a writeup but lost it so in a nutshell:

3.15..Kempton....English Summer....16/1....spot on for today....will be ridden from front by Fran Norton and bully its way into the shakeup. Should relish 2m.

Marvelino is a really good price today, he is my best bet of the day, whilst I have backed Polski Max at Musselburgh. My free bet after the Brocklesby is the 2.05 and I plumped for my old friend Riggins who I actually think might be better when drawn wide, he should come down the wide outside in the final couple of furlongs and that will help him get into full stride.

Thimaar (3.15 Kempton) is entered for the Yorkshire Cup - he'll be in my multiple bets.

Don't agree with that, Marvellino was just given a very easy time after his chance had gone, he was racing off the rail and saw too much daylight throughout the race. He was given one crack and after that it was all hands and heels. He showed enough to suggest that he has the speed to win an early maiden, and given that he shouldn't be 7/1 in a Kempton maiden! Hannon horse has been punted, so has to be the danger.

Hannon has won this race twice in the last five years I think and given the market support he looks a worthy favourite.
Having him in an early double with the Best horse.
Good luck all today but what rubbish fare!

I myself am a huge fan of two year olds who have raced and are taking on unraced 2 year olds. I think Marvellino is a stonking price.

    Selections today

1.35 Kempton MARVELINNO 13/2 - Ran green in the Bricklesby last week when going off as favourite, but looked a decent type and is obviously well thought of by the trainer and owners.

2.05 Kempton RIGGINS 9/1 (EW) - more than capable off this mark in this grade.

2.40 Kempton LAW OF THE RANGE 9/4 - Taken to get the better of SOORAAH once again.

3.15 Kempton THIMAAR 4/1 - progressive type who looks good enough to compete at a much higher level than this, for me a Group horse who is well handicapped. One that should be stripped fit from the jumps and will run a big race at a very nice price of 33/1 is ENROLLER who won a Group 3 race at Newbury back in 2009.

At Musselburgh, it may pay dividends to follow the combination of Phil Makin and Kevin Ryan who have a decent book of rides.
