    Saturday afternoon fever.
    Non League Day looms.

For anybody that needs their Footy shot in the arm, here's two local games that most people in the area can get to without too much trouble. I'm sure each Club will be more than happy to see you go along and get behind them.

Saturday marks the annual effort to raise the profile of 40,000 grass roots football clubs in the UK and the players, staff and supporters who keep it alive.

Non League Day is a way of raising awareness of local league games in an attempt to boost attendances at them - reminding fans that some live football is still affordable in 2013.

If you're looking for ideas about where to go, then there's a nifty match finder online here at the Non League Day website and details of games in the region are here:

    Northern League fixtures

    Northern Alliance fixtures

This year's NLD coincides with home fixtures for two local clubs who play in national leagues as follows:

Blyth Spartans v Grantham Town (3pm)

Former Spartans players will be on the pitch before kick off, all spectators will receive a free ticket for a draw to win a signed Spartans shirt and a new book entitled "We're the famous Blyth Spartans" will be launched.

Admission is £10 adults (£11 seats) and £5 concessions (£6 seats). Accompanied U10s go free (50p seats). A special edition of the match programme is on sale (£2).

    Gateshead v Hereford United (3pm)

The Tynesiders offer a £5 saving on Conference Premier League home games for NUFC season ticket holders. On production of their ST card, fans pay just £9 for adults while an adult & junior can attend for £11, thanks to an offer allowing accompanied U16s entry for £2.

    As posted on NUFC.com.

I'm sure they'll be pleased to see you. Hope you enjoy the game.

Pretty good Club Shop inside the ground, bought a few odds and ends the last time I was there. Good friendly staff who were pleased to get some custom.
