Oppenheimer comes across genuine enough. I know he's not short of a few bob but fair play to him and connections.

Yep, agree STH and I don't mind old boy Gosden either. Gee, just seen it back there, he's annihilated them.. Some performance.

Fantastic performance. The minute I said the Dante looked a poor trial I had a gut feeling there was egg heading its way towards my face.

That's a proper winner- well done those who thought he'd stay.

It's reported both Paddy Power and William Hill will pay out over £1 million now Golden Horn won. :) Just hope he's not like Authorized, who also won the Dante and Derby, then only won one race after that (mind you, some Derby winners didn't win again, Sir Percy being the most recent example, Motivator the year before). John Gosden said he's likely to run in the Irish Derby next, providing soft or heavy isn't in going description he's bound to win. And he's most likely to win the International at the York Ebor meeting if he runs.

How grumpy is Frankie after winning the Derby? <laugh>

American Pharoah runs in the Belmont later on, let's hope he wins the Triple Crown.

Dettori would have to have a heart of gold not to take great pleasure from stuffing Godolphin's buy with the jockey he replaced (or he was replaced by) on it.

Good ride by both of them and obviously a talented animal won it.

Murray had me ****ting it I'll have to admit, but ultimately the worlds best player just proved why he is that. Murray's awfully unlucky to be around in the time of 3 of the best ever tennis players. In any other era he'd be a champion, but he's just half a % behind Novak in a few areas IMO but the gap's closed right down. There the top 2 now, they'll take the game forward in the coming years. I'm a massive Rafa fanboy but I think he's got a whole lot on his plate to catch up on the other pair and Rogers on the decline. Hopefully Stan can't throw a spanner in the works tomorrow, surely.

Problem is for the time being he will be 3rd seed so will meet Novak in the semis in the majors

Lets hope American Pharoah does the business tonight, I think he will but there is a reason its not been done since the 70s.

And lets hope they dont retire him instantly if he wins.

Well if he improves a fraction on grass (only needs to) that he has on clay you'd be splitting hairs picking between them at Wimbledon. He'll soon get the 2 spot too though I'd guess.

I did not see John Gosden asked where Golden Horn would run next (not to say that he was not asked) but he definitely hinted the Irish Derby next for Jack Hobbs immediately after the race.

The bookmakers seem to share my view that Golden Horn will go to Sandown. The sponsors of the Coral Eclipse bet: 6/4 Golden Horn, 4/1 New Bay, 6/1 Free Eagle, 8/1 Gleneagles, Western Hymn, 10/1 Jack Hobbs, 12/1 The Grey Gatsby, Cirrus Des Aigles, California Chrome.

Coral was doing a promotion this afternoon to entice new customers to them: maximum bet of £10, 5/1 Golden Horn to finish in the first three in the Derby.

Had to record the Derby due family commitments. Fantastic result. Happy on many counts, for Frankie, John Gosden, and the fact that the bookies at last got shafted. Hope the latter is true, one can never tell with these jokers. That's a damn good racehorse, what a turn of foot, stay he did.
