Maybe my eyes deceive me but I'd have thought Dartmouth can win another one of these handicaps off a rating of 102?.
Hi all, Some good cards tomorrow two I fancy pretty strongly are: 2pm Balty Boys 5/1 Haydock 3pm Jamesie 9/4 Navan Good luck all.
Some days it seems like there is no rhyme or reason to events in the universe and at others the universe aligns so perfectly that you stand back barely able to believe it has in such a perfect way. I do of course refer to the last two horses in the handicap taking place at 3.10 at Haydock Park.... Brilliant ! http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/...cecard/691740/betfred-tv-be-friendly-handicap
Hawkeyethenoo 2.50 16/1 - this old stager is now 11lb below last winning mark and ran a nice race last time over 5f which is too short for him. Although 9 now and not quite the force of old I think he retains enough ability to run a big race and 16/1 will do for me.
2.35 Haydock Nakeeta 16/1 I was at Chester when a very good 2nd having run on late to make up some ground, and again stayed on well for 2nd up in Scotland recently. No problem with and it would be a great little scalp for Jardine to land a competitive race like this.
Love the Hawk, what a legend! However I think Fox Trotter has a nice e/w chance in this with a clear run- race should suit his style.
Don't hate it, Stick, just don't particularly like it, that's all. Kempton and Sandown were very much my local tracks years ago, could walk back home when I had blown the lot, no problem. Must say, I was at first horrified when Kempton went Polytrack for the flat, now used to it. Rarely have a bet at Kempton flat nowadays, too difficult for this old geezer. NH? Well, that's different.
15:45 Haydock - Mattmu (Busy watching other stuff today, but had a bit at 9/1 on this admirably consistent sprinter. Hopeful he'll run a good race).
All of Kempton’s old turf flat meetings are now on polytrack. Now that Newcastle have had their final turf meeting, I will not be betting on races there anymore either.
If the week ahead weather forecast is to be believed (I know, that is stretching it), then the Irish Champion Stakes showdown between Golden Horn and Gleneagles could well be on. Jack Hobbs is taking a Group 3 polytrack penalty kick today rather than go for the Group 2 Prix Niel over Arc course and distance next Sunday. In the big race at Haydock (3:45), it is easy to draw a line through out-of-form Due Diligence, G Force, Pearl Secret and Belardo. Much as I like Waady, he is a five furlong horse and so is Sole Power. Mattmu was well beaten at York but should run a good race back over six. Twilight Son has been impressive in handicaps but this is a huge step up in class after a long lay-off so it is hard to see him retaining his unbeaten record. I expect Gordon Lord Byron to run well but he is becoming expensive to follow, so I have to go with ADAAY for whom the course, distance and going are not issues and the stable is bang in form. Whilst the Haydock 3:10 is numerically competitive, there are a lot that are out of form. Old boy Silvanus would have to put in a career-best performance so the vote goes to MALJAA, a three year old with just six races on the clock culminating in a good win at Doncaster last time. In the Old Borough Cup (2:35), I have the horrible feeling that victory will go to one of the Johnston horses because they both owe me money! It is difficult to know how to assess High Secret, who is in good form right now and cannot be discounted, but if Pressure Point can handle easier ground than he has ever won on, he can complete a hat-trick. Can Dartmouth defy being raised nearly a stone for his easy win at Goodwood in the Ascot 3:25?
Afternoon all. Mr Haggis pulled Wonder Laish out of a race at York. Given how well his were running at the time I fancy him to run a big race in the 325 at Ascot. As a Watford fan I just had to have a few pennies on Anya in the 220 at Kempton. Good luck everyone
Some very tough handicaps to solve and it's a small stakes day. The former Vernon Sprint is it's usual conundrum, but my arrows landed on two that QM finds easy to draw a line through .. Pearl Secret and Due Diligence. The former because I think he is on his way back and the latter because ... well it's AOB at 33-1 and that can't go unbacked! Along with others I think Wonder Laish is well worth an interest in Ascot's 3-25 with Field of Dream tickling my fancy in the previous race. I'll be keeping clear of Kempers though! Good luck all
