Bet of the year currently is Quarrey 5-4 AGAINST to beat Djokovic. Currently 2 sets to nil overnight to Quarrey including winning the 2nd set 6-1. I know Djokovic has won his last one thousand grand slam matches but seriously cant believe he is still 4-7 ON to win. He cant win every match forever. The 5-4 just has to be taken as does the current 7-4 on Murray to win Wimbledon (Djoko still 6-4 fav).

Hopefully last year’s £5 Sandown racecard was just a 40th anniversary edition rip-off. I thought that €5 for the Chantilly one was a right rip-off as half of it was adverts for fashionistas but I won’t be paying £5 for Coral adverts and a race history this time in Esher.

Has Roger Charlton played a canny game with Time Test in the Eclipse Stakes? With the prospect of very soft ground at the start of the week, I expected him to be withdrawn but instead they have supplemented a pacemaker. If the ground dries out to Good by race time, he could have a very live chance in what looks beforehand like a moderate renewal.

On form, My Dream Boat is probably the best horse here but would not have been good enough to win any of the last few renewals.

Is Bravery in on his own right or as a pacemaker for The Gurkha? The Poulains winner was beaten at Royal Ascot and steps up in trip here against his elders. Those of us that are beginning to reach the conclusion that most of the three-year-olds are ordinary this year need to see him or Hawkbill win this impressively to think about changing our minds, especially since the last two three-year-olds to win were Derby winners.

In the Coral Distaff (3:10), the obvious one of note is Sariska's daughter Snow Moon, dropping back to a mile after failing as odds-on favourite over ten furlongs last time. She ought to be okay on the ground but this looks quite competitive – if Gosden chooses to be present here rather than Haydock that may be a clue in itself.

William Buick has a month of holiday time to look forward to starting Sunday, so he had best make the most of his rides at Sandown.

Albernathy was beaten favourite in a six-runner affair last time and is unproven on easy ground (well beaten twice on Good ground) so does not look a great prospect. Log Out Island takes on his elders in the second race after a disappointing effort at Royal Ascot and it was James Doyle aboard when he made all at Newbury. The ground should not be a problem but are the three-year-olds actually good enough? Best Of Times blew any chance he had last time by pulling but has shown nothing in either of his races this year to inspire confidence. Natural Scenery could well end up favourite for the last by virtue of having won on easy ground on only her second start last time, especially if she is thought to be better than handicap class.

Really excited about The Gurkha at 10f but would have liked to have seen a bigger field.

Could get tactical but he showed speed to win the French 2000 Guineas.

I hope they persevere over the distance but they also have Minding of course!

As for the rest of the day-

Lady Of Camelot 7/1 is taking a big step up in the Lancashire Oaks but showed a touch of class when beating some useful types in a maiden when unfancied at Leicester, and this daughter of the late great Montjeu can take it in her stride for John Gosden over at Haydock.

Duke of Firenze 12/1 looked overpriced from an excellent draw in the charge at Sandown too. He's really found some form for Griffiths, who looks a shrewdy with sprinters, and if he can get a handy position from the draw, he might just get first run.

At the same venue, Make Fast 7/1 shape much better than bare result at Ascot and with a clearer run will be involved today I hope. Stiff Sandown finish should be right in his fillies favour.

1.25 Albernathy @ 3/1 - Could be well in here - won over c&d and is by the excellent Dubawi, whose progeny cope with all sorts of condition.

2:00 Coral Charge - I think the ground will make this more like a 6f sprint and Duke Of Firenze looks good value @ 8/1 was staying on from the back when placed in valuable handicaps at Epsom and Musselburgh.

2:35 Coral Challenge - Mutamakin @ 5/1 - won over C&D three weeks ago; that was on good to firm but he's effective on a much slower surface too; likely more to come.

    3.10 Coral Distaff - Sharaakah @ 6/1 -
repeat of the form of the 3rd in the Sandringham should see her involved and she may come on again.

Fantastic spirit, passion and commitment from those Welsh lads last night. Didn't hit the panic button when the Belgians were coming on to them and Coleman has got them all firing - f**k all chance of the FA being able to poach him unfortunately <laugh>

Not a single goal was a fluke either - Robson-Kanu what a goal!! Nobody can say they were lucky and they deserve to be where they are. I hope they smash Portugal and good luck to them!!
