Just watched on ATR a horse of Amo Racing USA trained by Wesley Ward boom in in a race at Churchill. First time out missed the Course record by under a second.. called OUTFIELD. Cost $850K as a yearling... seemingly RA bound...
Outfielder. There seems to be a Ward hotpot heading to Royal Ascot every year but at least this one has run on turf . Only hands and heels ridden too
Irish 2000 Gns. Timeform followers will be all over Field of Gold (7lb clear) but at Evs I would take him on with the unbeaten Kingman colt, Cosmic Year at 10/3. Not really extended in any of those races, including at Newmarket in a good time
Curragh 3.05 Taking on the fav again. My Mate Alfie 9/2. Banking on the fav needing the run in prep for Royal Ascot
Goodwood 14.05 Amiloc at 7/4. By Postponed out of an Authorized mare Haydock 15.00 Symbol of Honour 11/4 Haydock 16.10 Maelstrom 9/4
Curragh Small bet 16,50 Eyema Candy Girl 20/1 e/w WH, Lads, Coral and PP five places Cartmel 18,38 Donny's Fortune 8/1 e/w bet365 four places, three others
For those interested. I live about 15 minutes from Beverley. Rained hard last night, but I doubt its had much effect on the ground. Might be a bit loose on top.
18:38 Cartmel - Donny's Fortune e/w Class-5 Handicap Chase over an extended 3m1f on good ground. Tricky event with many holding good chances. Selection could well have been unlucky LTO so will give the Soldier of Fortune gelding another chance to gain a podium finish. Wears tongue-strap as in previos runs. R. T. Dunne rides for the Micky Hammond yard. 6/1 best price in several places on the ATR site, at time of writing. (Pilgrim's pick too. Hope I have not put a curse on its chances!)
Too much today.... BUT THE FLYING SEAGULL 410 HAYDOCK... 8/1 or there abouts.. 4 places Invariably drawn out in the car park.... not sure about today.. JUST WATCHED THE FIRST AT GOODWOOD... THE USUAL 15 HARD LUCK STORIES...
Hadock this Saturday ......... and next .............. and only 2 weeks since Swinton Hurdle day. That's 3 out of 4 Saturdays on ITV. Doesn't seem fair really.
I know people were getting rightly excited by Fields of Gold today and its sectionals etc. Over a mile it was fast by 0.12 seconds... BUT...... If this is correct, what the heck did we see earlier in the afternoon over 1 mile 4... A 5 year old carrying 9.12 and giving upwards of 5lbs weight way... !@!@! and on ground rain affected..
