I'm very happy with my comp selections

    Asc

3-15 Drumshambo can go in again, probably at the expense of Lancetto again 3-1

2-05 Captain Chris - although I was never a fan of this one, I feel he will strip fitter than Al Ferof 6-4

    Hay

1-50 Zuider Zee added this in my tracker after his last run and although I'm very wary of Home Run .... 8-1

2-25 Trustan Times last years winner, rated 6lb higher this time around, although carrying the same physical weight 8-1 and a guaranteed place!

3-00 Bob's Worth should win, but I'm throwing in Roi Du Mee for the forecast

Big priced fingers crossed double: Hay 3-35 Noble Legend 16-1 and Asc 2-40 Magnifique Etoille 14-1 who in time honoured fashion "could be anything" and I'm hoping he IS Pegasus :D

He sure looked like Pegasus at Stratford and could have a fitness edge over the other two. Lovely animal and we find out tomorrow how good he is!

Gut instinct tells me that Bobs Worth is a stonking good bet to win tomorrow - won the Hennessy first time up last season, never beaten going left handed, well clear of this lot on ratings- Common sense tells me he is a 4/6 shot but after a string of seconditis my balls have shrunk. Can't really afford to lump on him but I just know he will win if I don't. God I hate gambling.

30 years ago a mare crossed the Irish Sea and won the Ascot Hurdle. She went on to win a Champion Hurdle and one of the most spinetingling Gold Cups ever run. Her name was Dawn Run.

Tomorrow the UK will see Annie Power.

    2.40 Ascot: ZARKANDAR 7/4

Unbeaten when re-appearing (and right-handed), and with all of the form lines in the book, he has to be given a chance to beat Annie Power. She has been MIGHTILY impressive but she has yet to battle and if she is good enough to beat Zarkandar on the bridle over almost 2 and a half miles on a stiff track then Mullins has a serious animal on his hands.

Zarkandar to battle away again- as he did when giving Prospect Wells SEVENTEEN (17) POUNDS last year!

    1.50 Haydock CLONDAW KAEMPFER 4/1

Surprised by the price and the handicap mark. He should go very, very close in soft conditions if none the worse from his issue when pulled up (think injured) when last seen. He is in my opinion at least 6lb ahead of the handicapper here. How much further in front or how far he can progress I'm not sure, but the ability to win a handicap off 136 looks there.

    3.00 Haydock CUE CARD 8/1 e.w

Not a race I would be heavily involved in with reappearances from Bobs Worth and Silviniaco Conti. However, there are a couple of reasons why I think Cue Card can go well: Firstly, it is a nice flat track and that will mean his speed is a greater asset- as it was for Kauto Star on many occasions. Secondly, there is a fair bit of pace in the race- Silviniaco, Long Run, and Roi Du Mee are all horses who race on the speed and I think that might help Cue Card get into a better rhythm if Joe Tizzard can settle him in amongst that quartet, which is by no means a given. His 6L defeat giving Somersby 21lb is actually an excellent run, especially given that he made an early mistake (as he did in the King George last year, which cost him later on for stamina). A good round puts him bang in the mix for the final 2 furlongs because he has the speed to make some of these look very slow. Might get run out of it if he doesn't jump well enough late on, but a good round of jumping ought to see him leading with 2 to jump! Thirdly, he ought to be nice and fit for this as he looks to prove himself a genuine King George candidate.

Fantastic race may I add- real good lineup and what it needs!

    12.10 Haydock- Golden Hoof 6/1

Another one of my 5 to follow- but put him there on the basis he is goign to go chasing. After an agonizing run from his half brother Oscar Hoof- am hoping he can go one further. He is a huge, talented horse of whom I can wwait to see him go over the bigger fences. He has chasing made for him. He has won 3 novice hurdles last year and will appreciate the ground- altho he is off a fairly stiff mark- he has the talent and jockey to improve and take the field

    15.35 Haydock- Silver By Nature- 16/1 e/w

Am having a small punt on this grey beauty tomorrow- He absoloutely loves the course, winning here in 2010 & 2011 in the grand national trial. Will love the soft ground too (softer the better) but altho he is getting on he showed signs he still has at Punchestown lto. The only slight worry is, he usually needs his reappearnce run but @ 16/1 at this track he is just to big to ignore

    12.45 Haydock- Rolling Star- 9/4

Am going to regret going against Far West I think- I am a huge fan of his but - Rolling Star just jumps out the page at me. Far West was impressive @ Wincanton lto but I think as oddy pointed he is going go chasing and is crying out for it. Rolling Star although very disappointing in the spring at the festival and aintree he had a terrific start to the season and was favourite for the Triumph this year too. He holds alot of talent and im hoping he loves this time of the year and will bounce back to form

Wooly not surprised after his good run last weekend - then again I always say a 6/1 winner is better than a 20/1 loser - he's due a quiet few weeks now u watch haha :)

A 1/10 winner is better than a 50/1 loser <laugh> but your rite he is on fire, I think was it on C4 last week they were talking about his losing streak cant remember how long it was but he could pick a winner if his life depended on it , I have taken a risk and gone against him, hoping ur rite hes due a few losers lol

    Hello lads.

Just back from the Belfast beer and cider festival at the Ulster Hall..great work from the CAMRA volunteers behind the bar.

I miss proper ale and apart from this, and wetherspoons (which is like a Dodge City saloon over here),you never get a decent ale in Belfast.Sampled Gold Beacons,Burton Bridge,Hogsback,McGrath No.5,Naylors Blonde,Fyne Jart,Otley O3,Salopian Darwins and many more...great stuff.

Hope I'm able to stay awake for the Ashes..we're far from done with...plenty of bad weather possible.

Hugely disappointing y'day and apart from Broad who, despite being a c*** of a man, played superbly and showed some fight.

I think these sides know each other so well now that the game is played out on the flip chart before each test and the players simply fail to disappoint the opposition and adapt to anything away from their standard MO.

Always hope...I do,however, wish someone would exterminate the "barmy army"..****ing embarrassing mind **** morons.

30 mins for a quick card study...anyone fancy 14/1 on us to turn the GABA on it's head?
