In the first race at Doncaster on Saturday, a Class-3 Handicap over 7f. (13:20), have a really strong fancy for Master Zoffany. Reason being the prevailing soft/heavy ground conditions have become perfect for the Zoffany gelding, (Damsire: Shamardal). Will be very disappointed if he does not run a big race. Oisin Orr rides for the Richard Fahey yard. Stable reports selection is in very good nick at present, which I hope is not a negative sign! <whistle> :emoticon-0100-smile :bandit:
9/1 (Wm.Hill/PP) is the best price at this early time of writing. At these odds, E/W is the preferable option.

There will be slightly less "nudge-nudging" and "wink-winking" in the first Pertemps Qualifier of the season at Cheltenham. Qualification rules for the final have been amended and now only the FIRST FOUR qualify for the final. Actually Botox Has could hose up.

5/2 Knight Salute is tempting this evening. Elliott‘s runners have been very poor today and 4/5 Pied Piper seems very poor value.

In the first at Cheltenham I’m going with Rexem. The trainer always has winners at this meeting with two yesterday. For me the real threat is saint Pallas. The price is a bit short for me normally but my nap of the day. Thought the card yesterday was better than today.

Got to fancy the chances of Editeur Du Gite in the 3.15 at Cheltenham. He has his ground and loves to front run around here. Should once again offer a great spectacle.

Fascinated by this race and was only drawn to it because YOUNG FIRE went in my tracker a few months ago. He gets his ground today as does your selection but when I looked a little closer the £ ew had to go on TOMFRE (backed at 10/1). He won this race two years and followed up over C&D on his next run. All season he has been campaigned on unsuitable ground and has tumbled in the ratings to the point where he gets in here off 15lbs lower than his last C&D win. He either has an outstanding chance today or is just "gone at the game".
I think I will do the three in a tricast as well. All three are being very well supported.

Beginning to think the low draw (4) is not so good for Master Zoffany. However, made-up my mind early yesterday and there's no changing that. Your picks are very interesting and if that tricast comes up you'll need two wheelbarrows to cart the shekels away! Good luck!

That race would frighten me to death to have a bet…

The favourite is on a 6 timer; Widdow Maker has decent Grade One form; Effernock Fizz has been ridiculously uprated 19lbs for a moderate third in his last chase effort- but is in the form of his life over hurdles; the outsider, El Borracho, has 5 wins and 2 seconds for his chasing attempts; and Willie Mullins must be feared with Dads Lad.
Good luck with Editeur Du Gite, Oddy.
    You’ll need it!<laugh>

I don't get financially involved with the nags these days Tam. But I do like to see a front runner in a 2 mile chase jumping from fence to fence. Stirring stuff <ok>

Oddy, you must like Gary Moore- or have you “Still got the blues?”<laugh>
Personally I think Streets of Doyen has an outstanding chance if he can reproduce either his third in last year’s Albert Bartlett or his three length second in August behind rejuvenated Darver Star.
PS. It’s not “Get at Oddy day” by the way:emoticon-0150-hands

In the finalé at Newbury (16:50), a Class-5 Handicap for Amateur Jockeys over 1m4f, the Golden Horn filly, Golden Dove, could cause a surprise at fairly long odds. Should handle the heavy ground conditions and stay the trip. Experienced and competent amateur jockey, Mr. Simon Walker on board for trainer Simon Earle.
Best price 10/1 (Bet365/STS) at time of writing. E/W best option at these odds.
